can u keep them in big bins with 2 mice im gettin some so ya reply please and dont say" is it big enough for a mouse?"i hate that. anyway urs r so cute
I'm afraid you were ignorant simply for trusting in a pet store worker. You could have at least gone to the manager, though the best thing would be to research yourself.
ummm.... i think tht ur pet 'fatty' was sick cuz u went over the 10% of treats in a mouse's diet. mice arent supposed to eat alot of fruits n veggies nor other treats more than 10% their total intake of food. the other 90% supposed to be high-quality mouse food/lab blocks
its better if u get 2 females so they wont be lonely n keep eachother company n play together
but as for males, 2 of them in the same cage is not good cuz they end up fighting alot. i had 2 males n they scratched eachother. now 1 male is all alone in his cage cuz the other one died :(
but yea n females r less...smelly so i may suggest u get 2 females instead of 1 :)
oh n dont put males together, nor females n a male either cuz theyll start breeding like crazy O.o
They are SOOOO cute! LOL one of my mice was a bit tubby, so I moved him and his brother to a bigger cage so they could get more exercise and I fed him lots of lettuce and ricotta cheese, and he slimmed right down!!! They are GORGEOUS - and very lucky to have you! :-)
Sorry to hear about your mouse. One of my mouse die four days ago. I took her to the vet, but they said nothing was wrong with her, than she die 2 weeks after that.
pet mice have a life span of up to 3 years "with proper care" (just reading offa pet mouse 'care sheet' from petco after i got my mice their cage over there xD) so yea maybe she already exceeded the 3 year span limit or something...
they can eat fruits, veggies, n other treats but only up to 10% of their total food intake. the other 90% is supposed to be high quality mouse food/lab blocks :)
Indeed! They eat stale bread as part of their diet. Walt Disney used to own a pet mouse named Mortimer but his wife, Lillian Disney didn't agree with it so she changed to Mickey. Cute, huh!
hey uhh..i have had a pet mouse for about 5 months now... and i have a question...my mouse squints its eye whenever something is close to it, is this a bad sign? it also scrathes his face occasionly, and i wonder if this is normal? or a sign of something bad..PLEASE RESPOND ANYBODY!
the scratching, maybe just cleaning.. if he squints its because he feels something on his whiskers and he doesnt want to get hit in the eye...im guessing? hope this helps
I just bought two more. They are so tiny. I will make a video of them soon. Indy misses Fatty but she has become very maternal to the two baby girls. :)
hey thanks for your well wishes!! I have given her the course of antibiotics and it seems to have done the trick, she isn't coughing or wheezing anymore! Yay!
single mice cuz if u have two u might have a slight problem :)

I'm sorry about your tubby, he/she was a real cutie.
My mouse Persephone was waay fatter than tubby, but obese mice are never a good thing at all.
Persephone died of a tumor because she was so fat. (when mice are obese they are really prone to tumors)

hi, im thinking of getting 2 pet mice, any advice you can give me about anything at all?
etria702 3 years ago
if you havnt got them yet i can tell you a few things. i have had mice a rats for a very long time.
love4ferrets 3 years ago
great. um, would a 10gal tank be ok for 3 mice? or would i need a hamster cage?
etria702 3 years ago
either will work. cages have better ventilation but tanks work fine. i used to always use tanks and i still do once in awhile.
love4ferrets 3 years ago
ok thanks ^.^
etria702 3 years ago
no, it's not cheese. it's soggy bread.
all183 3 years ago
Actually for your information, it's stale bread.
mermaidamp 3 years ago
i would think the person who owns the mouse would know what he/she fed him/her
skatekoh 3 years ago 6
no, only too much dairy is not good (wet poop ;) ;). little bit for a treat is alright... but in this case...thats a pretty big treat
