VM received 5 more points because: they skate a lot in dance hold (more difficult) whereas PB's program mostly side by side. Also it's all the things like better flow, perfects unison, deep edgework, transitions, etc. they all add up.

those last two lifts are wow - didn't notice before but Scott is starts out in a spread eagle position in the first fast & furious rotational lift. Always looking for difficulty and polish.
Wonderful lifts and their footwork is so smooth and flow-y... I dunno. I always have this Gordeeva/Grinkov vs. Mishkutenok/Dmitriev feeling with them and Davis/White. It's a real toss up... I think V/M are the better dancers overall (like G/G) but I like the wild abandon, not-as-clean-but-with-all-their-heart quality of D/W (like M/D).
@antineabelle I love P/B esp this year's FD but V/M are in a class of their own - their skating skills and presentation are just that much better, IMO - but yes, P/B's FD is great this year. I predict Gold at Euros for P/B and Bronze at World's.
