@MuSiCMaNMiLlErSyDnEy all you do is click on the clip so that the yellow lining appears around it and at the very beginning of that clip theres a little blue box with a wrench looking icon and click on there then click on audio adjustments and you just turn down the volume and that should mute the sound of the original clip. Hope it helped :)
