Surprisingly, there is a lot less vehicular traffic than you'd expect in such a large city. It seems to move remarkably smooth/efficient. Look at the bottom right. There are only 2 cars at the light! If that was LA, NY, etc, they'd be backed up for 20 blocks.

1) the video is taken during the weekend, which explains the massive ppl. Shibuya is a shopping district for young ppl, the ppl in the video are mostly young ppl, not businessmen.

2) the is 2 reasons for the massive amount of ppl. This takes place in front of the entrance/exit to the shibuya train station. The other reason is that, instead of letting one road go and the other road wait, they made it so that everyone walks at the same time. Shibuya is the only place I know that does this.
