"get your own fame and leave david's alone" Who in the hell are you and what does "david's fame" or any bullshit like that have anything to do with a guy enjoying playing some music on youtube? What an ignorant thing to say.
Very well done, man! But just like ObiMan said...Pickup changes. Start with the neck, then at 1:15, kick it into the bridge, do some pinch harmonics. then at 1:26, kick back into neck for the finale. Thats exactly how david does it. I'm going to post a vid of myself doing this solo soon, though yours is going to be quite hard to top!
now i get it: you play a standart strat with 57 pickups. thanks for you nice vid, now i know, that the 57's is the right one for me. i was never sure if i can get this bright sound. most of the 57's player have a boomy sound in their playing.
looks like a classic 50s or a 57s. and you got a red 57's with this active pickups :D
im going to buy a new guitar and im not sure if i buy a 50s classic or a 57s. i already played a 57s, but never a 50s classic. which one would you advise me to buy?
hey, that was gr8 - i use slightly more drive on the castellorizon solo, but ures sounds just as good if not better. one thing is i have been searching for the castellorizon backing track for a while but cant find it, could you show me? cheers! wb
i agree, try not to improvise on Gilmour solos, He pretty much perfected the the art of bends. Anything improvisational makes it sound bad. Great sound though.
I think it's good for the most point, but a few things. One thing about the On an Island solo that makes it so amazing is the smoothness of when he bends. When you pick too much on the bends, it gives it a sharp sound. Also, Gilmour puts the fast stuff in the perfect spots, and your frilly improvisations kind of put it out of balance. But other than that, it was pretty awesome.
must be a cultural/language thing. if something is dead on it means that it's almost or exactly the same as something else. your tone is near the same (dead on) as gilmour's.
Sup man, decent attempts. A good bit of parts were off but hey, these are two damn hard solos. If you dont do it near perfect it just doesnt sound right (those damn double bends!). I'd like to hear you play the 1st solo from On An Island in the near future. Check out the one I have up. Peace.
it sounded like santana
