  • My favorite love song. I am singing it in my own dialect, cuz I love it so much. Cliff is the best in interpreting it. I am in the moon whenever I play this song. Long live Sir Cliff Richard. Jehovah Bless You.

  • This is from Cliff''s 1965 album "When in Rome'. Nicely done!

I can understand about 1/4 of the words from the year I studied Italian.

I put this on my 1965 playlist - you can step back to any year 1950-1999 with my playlists, and there are over 150 more playlists where I've attempted to collect every upload on yt for each artist i like, mostly mellow stuff.

But you should correct the lyrics:

"così tu nella nebbia più fuggir non potrai"

  • è una canzone dolcissima... stupenda!!!!!! <3

  • Iai-iai-iai-iai...molto bene.

  • AMAZING.

Amazing that this song is here in YouTube.

You guys are simply .... amazing !

  • Listening to the song again, I think the stanzas in the translation don't seem to be in the same order as in the song. But the idea is there!

  • The rest of the translation as sent by a friend:

    I want to hold you

Bound with a ray of sun

    So that with its warmth

    The fog will disappear

And your heart can warm itself

And it will never feel the cold.

Ti voglio cullare (I want to cradle you.)

  • Here's a translation: I want to cradle you You want to leave me and run away But alone in the dark You'll call me afterwards. I want to cradle you Lay you over the wave of the sea Bind you to a grain of sand So that you, in the fog, can't run away And you'll rest beside me. Ai, ai, ai...

  • I'm really glad I discovered your channel Jokarilon. I've been looking for this for so long. This is the only one I don't have on my Cliff Richard collection. The last time I heard this song was when I was still a kid listening to my unle's old turntable together with my late grandfather.. I can't understand the lyrics but the melody stayed at the back of my head up to the present when I learned that the title is not "Ti voglio cullare"... thank you so much!

  • Welcome...thanks & enjoy!

  • same with you! my mom made us all look for this track and yes, we were typing all the wrong keywords like: dibollo culare, dibolo kulare, tivolo culare, and etc since even my mom wasn't sure of the title! haha! :)

all she could remember was whenever she would hear this song, memories from her childhood days would resurface.. and when i found your site, she was so ecstaticly happy :) thank you soooooo much!!!!!

  • lol flynephenthe! I turned google and yahoo upside down just to look for this song too...

  • Funny, isn't it? BTW, thanks to you & again, to apmech.

  • You missed a lot indeed! This Houston fan went to Cliff's first concert in Manila, which was in 1983. He said that Cliff accommodated all 10 curtain calls - nice guy! I was already out of the country then. The best chance I ever got to see a Cliff concert was in the late 1980s, I think, when he was in San Francisco but I didn't go. I really regretted that. So I bought several concert DVDs of his. Spectacular!

  • Yeah, I guess so!

    Thank you so much.

  • The Cliff concert last year at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City was a tremendous success. Cliff sang and danced as if he has not aged at all. And after the curtrain was down, he came out with a guitar and sang five more songs to the delight of the audience. We hope he will make another tour in the Philippines agian soon.

  • Hey, you're based in the Philippines! No wonder you like Cliff Richard! I'm originally from Bicol but now live in the Seattle area. Did you see his concert in Manila last year? There's a Pinoy Cliff fan I'm in contact with. He's from Nueva Ecija and now lives in Houston. Keep those videos coming!

  • I missed that concert... Thanks!

    Ingat!

  • A favorite song of mine, even if I don't know what it means... Cliff's voice is melodious in any language. Thanks for posting.

  • Welcome & thanks!

  • This can't be true!!!!!! I've searched far and wide for this song. Where have you been all this time, Jokarilon? I am very grateful for the upload!
