The only problem I have with this video is that you said starbucks "boycotted" the troops coffee when asked to donate. Look up the word boycott because the way you use it here is incorrect. A boycott is a protest by refusing to give your money to a business. Being asked to donate something and then you don't is something else. Starbucks is not protesting anything so the word boycott is completely misused here. It ruins your credibility. Instead, just say Starbucks does not support the troops.
Even if 9/11 never happened... what does that mean... "collapse into cool"? it doesn't even make any sense... it would be the dumbest ad ever. so, it had to be intentional... not just a coincidence, right? Who ever says "collapse into cool"... or collapse into anything??? I see that and think "Huh?"
I don't know what absolute bellend made this video, but the whole thing about the troops in Iraq is utter bullshit. Do some research before making pointless puke in Windows Movie Maker.
The 9/11 representation theory is laughable. I don't need to say any more.
@imboor3d Even if 9/11 never happened... what does that mean... "collapse into cool"? it doesn't even make any sense... it would be the dumbest ad ever. Who ever says "collapse into cool"... or collapse into anything??? If we were in a parallel universe where 9/11 never happened... if I saw this ad, I would still think "Huh? What does that mean?" The only sense it makes is that its a reference to 9/11... because otherwise, what the fuck does that mean???
Starbucks is actually pro military. I work in the 53 area of Camp Pendleton and we have a Starbucks there. With signs that they say they proudly brew coffee for the troops. So the whole "starbucks doesn't support the troops" crap is just that: crap.
wow, so an american company, who primarily base their markets in the US want to insult and thus loose their customers....right, good logic. I would imagine the advert was pulled after this was noticed as to defer from any media wars on what it appeared to be, even though it wouldnt have been designed that way, as well as being designed probably the year before.....as its often easier to pull back rather than argue. I dont even like starbucks, but people like this enrage me
I read a story circulating around the internet about a Marine asking Starbucks to send coffee to them and was denied. The story was fake. Several stores in local arias sent hundreds of pounds of coffee to troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. As for the advertisements hidden message, it was as loony as masonic conspiracy theories. Who was the Marine who asked for the coffee? What was Starbucks official policy? Can you provide anything to support this? You can't provide any evidence, only conjecture.
Go to your local coffee shop and get real coffee, not garbage, over-sugared, press-a-button for a latte shit Starbucks puts out. Enjoy type II diabetes.
I want to address a few things: For those of you who see that this is wrong, more power to you. For those who say it's a "coincidence" then why did they pull the ad when it was noticed? And for those who say Starbucks donated to the troops I do not believe you, considering I have heard from much more reliable sources that in fact they didn't donate to them. SUPPORT AMERICA! SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! DOWN WITH STARBUCKS!
I believe 9/11 was pulled of by Zionist Companies, and Zionist Dual Citizenship people within the Government that own the banks and Federal Reserve!!! Run Your Car On Water Today!
starbucks is not the biggest seller of coffee duckin donuts is and if starbucks is careful it stands to lose even more market share to mcdonalds and others they got too big too fast like block buster video they looked at the money they where making at the time not what they needed to keep making money down the road bigger is not always better
so how else would you just imply every aspect of 9/11 in an ad? You are ignorant and starbucks won your weak mind over... more people should be aware of this disgrace to America. Open your eyes and learn to see buddy, it's clear as day what their intentions were... so drink your coffee and laugh at me while our troops fight for you to do so... (whispers) Terrorist.
@shanjen100 even if 9/11 never happened... what does that mean? "collapse into cool"... it doesn't even make sense... it would be the dumbest ad ever. so, it had to be intentional... not just a coincidence, right?
oh my god, though im a muslim, i thnk this is just a coincidence , and i never judge something like about a product or brand, besides, i work in starbucks, and obviously, this is a coincidence..but again, im not on any side, but just thinking rationally..wallahualam..
"Every time we do something you tell me America will do this and will do that . . . I want to tell you something very clear: Don't worry about American pressure on Israel. We, the Jewish people, control America, and the Americans know it." - Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, October 3, 2001
YES, their choice of words ("collapse") was poorly judged.
That does not mean they meant the cups or the dragonfly to represent anything.
Plus, starbucks gives lots away to local charities.
Who deserves help more? The local charity that really makes a difference to people in need, or some 20/30 year olds with pensions and good income that somehow deserve free things because they shoot middle eastern human beings?
I know this was posted awhile ago but just need to call you on this one. there are so many people in this country who think they are entilted to everything and have no idea what it means to actually be in need, they sit around collecting money and help because they are too lazy to work and the rest of us pay for it. I think that the men who fight for our freedom deserve every penny they get, they are risking their lives so you can sit on your ass and post comments on youtube
Did I ever say it started at 9/11? no I didn't i'm not defending this video at all I was just saying that those "20/30 year olds with pensions and good income" (which is not exactly that great) deserve it more than the lazy people who live off of handouts.
And did I ever say uninformed? I just said you were wrong and Nazis... whole different war buddy.. your post makes no sense
i really dont think the starbucks thing is THAT big of a problem. i mean ya it was wrong and what not but its whatever get on with your life man its just coffee! its not the end of the world if the advertisers are jerks!
This is ridiculous. And Starbucks did not boycott the donation of coffee to the troops. I work at Starbucks, and we were involved in collecting donations from customers. Maybe you should do your research before you post videos like this.
It's not coming from the organization itself, it's coming from the americans that feel the need to donate... unfortunately, starbucks doesn't feel the need to donate when asked to. The troops overseas asked for coffee... none was sent to them. So don't tell me to do research, because collecting from others to send and actually sending from your own pockets are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS!
Regarding collapse: think in terms of collapsing into a comfortable chair or a hammock. It is not complicated.

Fuck the overhyped, overpriced Starbucks. Only dweebs wishing to be seen at the "trendy" coffeehouse get their inferior product.

Iraq/Afgan are not wars of freedom, they are invasions.
And don't tell me it started at 9/11, because america and russia have been invading the middle east for a couple of decades.
My grandad died fighting nazis so don't give me this un-informed crap.
