@lee91289 Finally somebody makes sense, Resident Evil is not what it seems to be, because Shinji Mikami, the original director and creator of the Resident Evil series left Capcom after making Resident Evil 4, and that's why Resident Evil is not as great as before, all Capcom cares about is the money, Resident Evil will never be the same, since nothing is the same without it's original creator.

@doomdood183 Of course it had real potential and that potential was realized with the finished retail version of RE2 which ended up being a classic. Capcom don't scrap games or parts of games for fun, they do it because it was'nt turning out very good.

To be honest, I find the RE 1.5 scenarios more realistic than the Final RE2. I am not talking about graphics quality, but the design. The buildings look like an actuall american city xD
the reason why this version was scrapped is because the producer did not like it. He said it was boring and dull compared to the first resident evil, and i can see what he meant. im glad with what we ended up with but it would be nice if this was featured as bonus playable content.
All of you hoping for operation racoon city should realize that is a shooter game that happens to take place in the RE universe. It will be socom with RE storyline. It will be nothing but action.
I think Elza, Linda or Roy, or even John can be mentioned or be on Resident Evil 6. It would be great, but the chance is minimal. Looks like CAPCOM see's this game with bad eyes, and won't change. But, they could just mention then, or who knows, on the reboot, take Elza as the protagonist?

@TheAnimelover40 Hideki Kamiya (director for this and RE2) explained on Twitter that he thought the game was rubbish, and he was very glad that they canned it. Supposedly it was too much like RE1 but I don't see it. It's a shame they scrapped it, but if the director thinks it's shit there's not much we can do

They have pretty much all these places..When you think of it, they kinda did release it, they just added new stuff.
I prefer this police station to the more gothic one in the finished resi 2 as not only is it more like, well, an ACTUAL police station and is more scary as you feel more claustrophobic.
@retrogamingfanatic I feel the same way, and it also seems like you get to explore more of the actual city in this version, which is something that I like better. I don't understand why you'd stay in the police station for so long, trying to unlock puzzles and whatnot, when it isn't anymore safe in there than it is outside, really.
Capcom owes us this, they already screwed with the series enouph for the action craving brats today, killed off some of the things that made the series what it is today, hey owe us a true Resident Evil. Thumbs Up if you agree!

@Staremonemesis Well do bare in mind, 1.5 had Gorillas, Alligators (baby and adults) the Spider walking thing (that we got in RE3 aka Chimaras) plus the usual ones we got in the final as in Zombies, Dogs, Spiders, Birkin forms. So i guess it does add up, but i do love the Lickers. Mr X doesn't really take notice with me, Birkin was the true boss in the game, X was just a trenchcoat wearing idiot.
I remember seeing the preview for this build in a Gamepro magazine way back in the old school. It looks darker than RE2, but still I'm glad that RE2 was made the way it was. I just wish that this game was ALSO released maybe as a sidestory. Capcom does it all the time now. Imagine then. That would be cool. I love the marshalling yard tune.

well theres many thing in game like weapon.. boss... rooms..Music. are very nice and would be a great part if they did release it. i love all resident evil parts but RESIDENT EVIL 1 the best and really ITS NOT JUST A GAME ;)

Damn... the game is still great as it was before even made me jump once XD but still the main point is the game might have not aged well graphically but the game play for me is quite perfect. I never even minded the tank controls I for one loved them. If only Capcom could remake their RE games like that ad ACTUALLY incorporate the Survival Horror theme I'd be in love again.

capcom removed the true survival horror in their latest games, ya know the feeling of suspense and helplessness that the characters xperience. the thrill of ammo consumption and puzzle solving are long absent in the new titles not to mention that they made the characters "too much of an action star"cuz they can shove off and punch, kick and throw the enemies.
Capcom sucks..for real.. I mean why the hell did they change the orginal concept of the game in 4 & 5 ? There was nothing bad about it.. and because and ONLY of the survival-horror element they gain so much popularity.
The only chance for Resident Evil is going back to roots! Not some ghost and las plagas shit.
If Resident Evil 6 will not have zombies\racoon city or something else from the old games in it, the whole franchise will die forever.

RE2 ( IMO ) and RE3 were by far the best . You either haven't played them or you started with RE4 and compare that to the older ones when they're totally different.

Oh wow... 0_0 I have to admit that Elza Walker looks so much better than Claire at least IMO plus she deserves to be a known character in the RE Series as she looks perfect as a main character. XP I so want this as well... T_T It looks so badass, seriously...! ^^

@dragonballzkaifan both included Zombies, both places where close to eachother, (the first which were in the Mansion, which was in a forest outside of a town called Raccoon City, which is the place of the second game), the company who made the virus are the same in both games.
It would be great to be able to play this beta versions, they should include them as a special feature in one of the games, but maybe I'm dreaming to much, CAPCOM does'nt even care about that kind of things, damn them!!! they don't even have a suggestions site,why they don't listen to the fans!!! lol

Although most re1.5 footage looks fascinating, I can see why they scrapped it. A lot of the scenes look like a rehash of the first re, with few improvements. The re2 we know today did an excellent job improving on a classic game such as re1. for instance, in this footage, the zombie arms popping out the windows looks horrible, with all of them moving in unison. In re2, they took this idea, and made it work. I mean cmon.. The finished Re2's story was amazing. I can't imagine it getting better. J

This footage is beta footage to a would be game that was no more than 75% complete. What were you expecting? The game obviously wasn't completed. Had this game actually been released, you would know Capcom to fix something as apparent as frailing zombie arms in unison. And surely Leon wouldn't have sounded like Chris either had RE1.5 been completed.
Honestly, I know this was probably scrapped for a good reason, but based on this footage, this game seems like it would've been amazing.
This seems so much more atmospheric, and the cityscape, offices and prison are brilliant and things I would've loved to see in the release version of RE2.

Well stated sir. I agree 100%. The only reason this game was scrapped was because supposedly it was way too similar to the first Resident Evil. But I think that's a bad reason to scrap a game, considering how grand and original the first game was, let alone successful.
Adding further, the released version of RE2 had no shooting range but had a crap "2 cell" jail no bigger than my kitchen. The environments of RE1.5 were modern, exuding high tech, cold steel. That was a big plus.

X3 I would so love to have this forgotten story as this Elza Walker looks great and I see so much potential in this forgotten gem, no lie... ^^ Someone should really pick up where this left off and complete it in a way they believe would be a complete RE 1.5 story even if it had to be paid for or for free hopefully as this RE 1.5 looks great and it is my opinion but I think Elza Walker would be such a great RE character to add to the rest of the existing RE Survivors, seriously...:D
That thing of putting a little picture of an item when you pick it up instead of the whole inventory screen is actually an improvement over RE2 if you ask me.
@andree1991 I kinda agree. The final police station looks like a Town Hall more than a police station where the beta looked a lot more like an actual police station with rooms and theming that better represented one.

I Agree, That seemed to have more than a police station. Man they really need to consider releasing this as a special on the psn store :/ Also If anyone wants to play in these such locations, I suggest you buy "Resident Evil:Outbreak / Resident Evil: Outbreak Case,File #2" for ps2. They have pretty much all these places..When you think of it, they kinda did release it, they just added new stuff.

I prefer this police station to the more gothic one in the finished resi 2 as not only is it more like, well, an ACTUAL police station and is more scary as you feel more claustrophobic.

I don't understand why you'd stay in the police station for so long, trying to unlock puzzles and whatnot, when it isn't anymore safe in there than it is outside, really.

Even spent hours upon hours unlocking all the unlockables like the special key, The 4th Survivor, The Tofu Survivor and all that good stuff!! But this... oh Lordy! This is crazy awesome!!!! @Staremonemesis Well do bare in mind, 1.5 had Gorillas, Alligators (baby and adults) the Spider walking thing (that we got in RE3 aka Chimaras) plus the usual ones we got in the final as in Zombies, Dogs, Spiders, Birkin forms. So i guess it does add up, but i do love the Lickers. Mr X doesn't really take notice with me, Birkin was the true boss in the game, X was just a trenchcoat wearing idiot.

I remember seeing the preview for this build in a Gamepro magazine way back in the old school. It looks darker than RE2, but still I'm glad that RE2 was made the way it was. I just wish that this game was ALSO released maybe as a sidestory. Capcom does it all the time now. Imagine then. That would be cool. I love the marshalling yard tune.

I remember seeing this back in 04' and was like oh snaps why didn't they release this. Also I'm re-playing RE2 on my PS1. Damn... the game is still great as it was before even made me jump once XD but still the main point is the game might have not aged well graphically but the game play for me is quite perfect. I never even minded the tank controls I for one loved them. If only Capcom could remake their RE games like that ad ACTUALLY incorporate the Survival Horror theme I'd be in love again.

I agree I remember when me and my dad would play these games together but now Resident evil has gone to shit after 4 and 5. They took the random camera views and made it like any other shooter game. What made the game cool never knowing whats around the corner and thats what made it scary. My Favorite one was 2.

capcom removed the true survival horror in their latest games, ya know the feeling of suspense and helplessness that the characters xperience. the thrill of ammo consumption and puzzle solving are long absent in the new titles not to mention that they made the characters "too much of an action star"cuz they can shove off and punch, kick and throw the enemies.

Capcom sucks..for real.. I mean why the hell did they change the orginal concept of the game in 4 & 5 ? There was nothing bad about it.. and because and ONLY of the survival-horror element they gain so much popularity.
The only chance for Resident Evil is going back to roots! Not some ghost and las plagas shit.
If Resident Evil 6 will not have zombies\racoon city or something else from the old games in it, the whole franchise will die forever.

RE2 ( IMO ) and RE3 were by far the best . You either haven't played them or you started with RE4 and compare that to the older ones when they're totally different.

Although most re1.5 footage looks fascinating, I can see why they scrapped it. A lot of the scenes look like a rehash of the first re, with few improvements. The re2 we know today did an excellent job improving on a classic game such as re1. for instance, in this footage, the zombie arms popping out the windows looks horrible, with all of them moving in unison. In re2, they took this idea, and made it work. I mean cmon.. The finished Re2's story was amazing. I can't imagine it getting better. J

This footage is beta footage to a would be game that was no more than 75% complete. What were you expecting? The game obviously wasn't completed. Had this game actually been released, you would know Capcom to fix something as apparent as frailing zombie arms in unison. And surely Leon wouldn't have sounded like Chris either had RE1.5 been completed.

Honestly, I know this was probably scrapped for a good reason, but based on this footage, this game seems like it would've been amazing.
This seems so much more atmospheric, and the cityscape, offices and prison are brilliant and things I would've loved to see in the release version of RE2.
I pretty much agree with andree. This police station is a lot more believable.

Well stated sir. I agree 100%. The only reason this game was scrapped was because supposedly it was way too similar to the first Resident Evil. But I think that's a bad reason to scrap a game, considering how grand and original the first game was, let alone successful.
Adding further, the released version of RE2 had no shooting range but had a crap "2 cell" jail no bigger than my kitchen. The environments of RE1.5 were modern, exuding high tech, cold steel. That was a big plus.

X3 I would so love to have this forgotten story as this Elza Walker looks great and I see so much potential in this forgotten gem, no lie... ^^ Someone should really pick up where this left off and complete it in a way they believe would be a complete RE 1.5 story even if it had to be paid for or for free hopefully as this RE 1.5 looks great and it is my opinion but I think Elza Walker would be such a great RE character to add to the rest of the existing RE Survivors, seriously...:D
