Thanks for uploading this vid. PS: I gotta an awesome email from GregoryLog today - he's gonna record your show on July 22, 2011 so that means on July 23 I'll be checking that out and picking it up. PPS: are you planning on coming a little further west at some point? and PPPS: I'm gonna make some merch for you for myself. Late. One of your biggest fans
This song is one of my favourite. :-) I prefer your acoustic version, but this is good too. I can imagine violin in some parts of the song. Maybe your contrabass player could play it on contrabass. I hope You think about it. :-)
Holy.. I had to activate my youtube account just to say this.. The last 2 minutes of this song are amazing. Seeing this really makes my week, as it seems you finally found your voice. I await anxiously to see where your talent takes you.
reina you need a record deal or be signed or whatever makes you famous and in the music industry haha l. i can't believe no ones done anything yet! how is it that rebecca black got more attention...you obviously have more talent
You begin with the words "This next song...." did you film any more of this set and if so are we going to see it later? Good luck with your forthcoming gig at the Wild Tymes Bar in Minnesota (Apr. 21)... Oops! They may have to get more seats in.
Very good- I didn't like how the electric guitar sounds in this. It could just be the mix (or more the lack of one), but it sounds incredibly toneless. I also feel like that part could use some more movement, less strumming and a bit more, I don't know, accent notes. I feel like if you're going to include an electric (and by all means, I don't think you NEED it), then use it to truly accent the music. Just a suggestion, I'm sure there's loads of people who'd help with that.
Wow, great performance, wish I was there in the crowed to give you a standing ovation! You and your music just amaze me! Your definitely taking your music to the next level. 10 out of 10 and 5 stars!!! :)
I didn't realize you were here in town! Are you just visiting or do you actually live around here? I've been subscribed from the beginning and I would love to see you perform live around here some time. I could get some other local youtubers around too. How did you manage to get the opportunity to play at the Fine Line? If you don't want to answer here then message me. I love your music.
LOVED the octave up, but I think it lasted too long. Maybe think about saving it for a bit closer to the end, like I'd say half of what you had there. But really great, cool to see you on stage with a band! I hope you make your way to the Seattle area sometime! I would be front row!!! :) And if you ever need someone to open for you out here I am so your girl. :D
i love all your songs! i have followed you for almost 2 yrs now. the only thing i can suggest in making your videos is to get your voice louder than the guitar. other than that, you are perfect. great originals, great voice, great look, great guitar skills! max<3
Ok, the first gig, you're nervous, you keep it quiet. But from now on you need to post when you are going to do a gig! And you need to pack everybody into a van and go on a nice regional tour this summer.
Reina! This was great. And I like how it all accelerates from the beginning to the end of the song. I hope you perform many more songs with the band!!
I don't know, maybe it's just me, but your singing vocals sounded..rather strange.Or it could be the video or sound system or something. Maybe I'm just not used to your stage performing voice. It got better at the end though. I don't think this song was suited to a loud performing voice.
think if they had a soaring guitar lead over the outro.....would be sweet.....as it was its pretty damn nice...great song, lovely performance....you need to go into the studio eventually
A really great performance by a fantastic young lady. The changes you made from the original song worked really well. The added musicians brought a nice twist from your solo performance. This is not to say that your solo performance was not spectacular. Both performances were truly great but slightly different. Is it wrong to expect nothing short of greatness from you?
All things considered this is good...the vocal should have been more dominant but the other instruments were well balanced...at last, a drummer that doesn't drown everyone out ! Nice job all round...it seemed as though your voice was tight at the beginning but your accuracy improved once you were really committed...I know I tend to be critical in my comments sometimes but it's meant constructively, if I thought you were crap I wouldn't bother...
I'm really appreciating the live-band aspect here - and you "letting loose"... (I hope there is a studio version out there somewhere... !) :) Always a pleasure to watch the awsome Reina Del Cid in action!
Amazing love this performance, your vocals are superb really loving the whole going up an octave part :) cannot wait for to hear from the band. By the way what are the names of the other bands members and the band?
I've been looking for a good double bass player in my area for ages, it just isn't an instrument played in my home town anywhere. Great band though, and great work Reina.
I've been following you here for years and I always wondered how that'd be like to see your songs with a band and stuff... this creates a whole lot of new possibillities for arrangement. You rock, and so the other skillful guys around you!
Congrats from Brazil! (and be sure I'm not your only fan here!) ;)
Very cool Reina. Simultaneously yourself and consumately professional. You rocked this ballad. Come play the Bottom Line or Bitter End In New York. More than enough big apple fans to fill all seats.
That was great! I haven't been to The Fine Line since Bo Burnham was there a few years ago. I truly wish I could've made it to your show. Good work and keep on growing in your music, it's lovely.
You've shown here that you've got the stage presence to front a band. Wish I'd been there.
Next step: more complex arrangements, lead guitar embellishments, power chords on the choruses, max use of backing vocals, keyboards if poss. In short, let the band loose to show what they can really do.
I'm loving watching your career develop, from those first hesitant solo songs, through increasingly sophisticated productions/ videos, to the public performances.
You look 'awesome' and composed up on stage Reina. It has been a few years since I've been to the Fine Line. Had I known you were playing there, I would, for sure, have been there. This was some time back, but my 60 dollars I brought with for myself and my date that was lined up by a friend playing match maker didn't go too far. The third round of drinks with a dinner is what broke the bank. Way cool you could get a gig at a higher end establishment.
Can't wait to see what you'll do next. Also congratulations on surviving another rotation around the sun, hope good things come your way this year. Best wishes.
anyone who doesn't love this song and you, is out of their mind .. you're great and i can't wait till your time comes because god doesn't create everyone with your talent. so i know he has great path ahead for you :)
I love your music, and your band is great! Still, I think this song, which is so touching, is more poignant with the solo guitar. This version has a lot more energy, though, and really fills the stage. Also, this like an awful lot of fun to sing. You're octave change was awesome! Do your band members have YouTube pages?
Wow... you really made the transition - from YT to the stage! You sound great - wonderful emotion and energy. Keep it up Girl, this could be your passion AND career!
Yay Reina!!! Loved it! I always liked this song and I like the "band" version too. Now - may I have some more please? Yeah I know, we keep demanding more and more from you...
It's so exciting to see you and your combo LIVE, ON STAGE!! I love the way you express such deep emotion with abandon. Thank you for bringing me and many others along! Your spirit shines beautifully on stage! :)
You definitely belong up there! I see you changed a few words….I know this because I was singing along in my mind and got thrown off the track ;). I didn't realize you could sing that high and it was great because I normally need to sing one octave lower than you. I love this "A While Ago" melody….thank you Reina!
Glad to see you have a band now. You are such an original musician and deserve to be featured with a proper backup -- even though all your own versions with just a guitar are superior.
this is soooo good! makes my birthday all the better. this is my favorite original of yours and hearing it this way just makes it all the better! you are amazing and such an inspiration. please never stop writing songs.
Very cool. It's great to see you are branching out....bringing your talents to the stage. Glad to see you are incorporating more instruments into your songs....hopefully it won't be long before we start hearing your music over the air waves. Very well done!!!! RDC nation is smiling.
Sorry Reina, when you start to rock I long for the solid sound of a bass guitar in the mix. The string bass just isn't cutting it for me.

Very cool. It's great to see you are branching out....bringing your talents to the stage. Glad to see you are incorporating more instruments into your songs....hopefully it won't be long before we start hearing your music over the air waves. Very well done!!!! RDC nation is smiling.
