first any shooting club or competition wont allow you to use a 10 gauge for target shooting. its a too big of gauge that could travel too far. and you could never hit both clays at the same time as they flew from the high house and low house. and the recoil is a lot more that a 12 gauge 3" load its more that a 12 gauge 3 1/2" load and i think i would know because i own booth.
sorry but, no actually a 10-gauge only has a max range of 250ft. it'll unleash a 5ft. wall of #12 birdshot. and a 10-gauge fires at a much lower speed than a 12-gauge meaning even though it's bigger, it has less recoil. they have about 60lbs of recoil at 19fps while a 3 or 3-1/2" magnum 12-gauge will have anywhere from 50 to 95lbs of recoil at 20 to 27fpss depending on the load and weight of the gun. also 10-gauges are only 0.05" larger than a 12-gauge so therefore they sren't much more powerful
yeesh siry bob. now u gotta try it with the real clay throwers. i worked at the sportsman club in the summer and got to shoot the autimated traps so they go in all directions. and then they have a shooting legue i was in too.every tuesday.
That is some quick shooting, thoug the kid is dismounting the gun too soon and on a regular shoot that might been loosing some targets and a lower score.
Thats not skeet. Thats trap... well sort of. This is crude clay shooting.

I'm getting a freaken 10-gauge for skeet shooting. they hold a lot more shot so you could even go for two clays with one shot.
also the recoil isn't as bad as a lot of people think, it's actually similar to a 12-gauge 3" load
