UncleChurch. You seem to have he same condition I have. My surgeon recommends fusion of L5S1 because of foraminal stenosis caused by Spondololythesis.
Thank you for getting back to me. I am 3 months out now they removed my big brace, and the nerve pain is still there. I am facing two more surgerys now and to your video I will know now what to get a head of time.Thank you
I saw this video before my spinal fusion surgery. I had 3 vertabrae fused and a discectomy. Out of the video diaries on Youtube from spinal fusion patients this one was the most encouraging. I had a recuperation similar to this man - quick, relatively pain free. I was off all meds 3 weeks after surgery. I think the reason I recuperated so quickly was I was fairly active. I really believe in being in the best shape you can before you go into this surgery.
I am a month out I had triple layer spinal fusion with bone graph and the nerve pain in my foot is crazy. I can't find how many more days this will last or what to do about. I'm on no meds at all. I can walk but putting shoes on the feet hurt to bad. Any ideas?
@77canucme I had some really annoying nerve pain for a few weeks after surgery too. It went down my leg to my foot, kept me awake. I would do without pain meds all day and then at night, to sleep I took one pill. That did the trick and the pain is now gone. They say intermittent nerve pain is normal after the surgery, I hope by now yours is gone.
love you constantly encouraging you, it's so much easier. (Your parents (or guardians, whomever it is with you) might not tell, but they're secretly freaking out about it too. It'd be good for them to talk to the parent(s) of that patient too.)
p.s. get one of those grabbers he talks about in the video. It helped me a lot. I even picked tomatoes from our garden with it. Anything to feel somewhat healthy, right?
i have Lumbar Spinal Stenosis, PseudoclaudicATion, and Sciatica If U WAnt To Know The BEST WAY TO deal With THE CHRONIC WIDESPread PAIN Come to my PAGE....I HAve Been SufferiNG for OVER 10 YEARS I EVEN GET ELECTRIC LIKE ZAPS IN MY NERVES FROM INTENSe PAIN..IVE PASSED OUT FROM THE PAIN ON NUmerous Occassions IM ONLY 22 come see the true healing method i use...AND YOU WILL NEVER OVERDOSE ON IT!!!!!!
Hey I'm 19 I'm about to have s-1 , L-5 lumbar surgey an I have to tell you, Im so scared shitless an nerves. is there any thang u can recamend on anythang on trying to relax an have the nerve to get through this an have it done.
@jared626 Hey, I'm not sure if anyone has answered you yet, but I'm 18 and I had the surgery 2 years ago. The best thing pre-op, I would say, is to talk to someone who has had the surgery. Preferably someone close to your age, since they tend to have the same type of thought process. See if your doctor can get you in contact with another patient. that was the best thing to help me prepare. They'll hopefully be honest with you. It's a really tough process, but when you have people who
seeing my doc in 3 days, my L5 is messed up, and i have 3 other dicks, deg.. IM so tired of this, hurt all the time, Ive had 3 blocks, they only help for a week or so... thankyou for your video, there is hope.
I just had a microdisectomy, decompression and fusion at L4/L5 4 weeks ago. They used the Medtronic Sextant system with 4 titanium screws, 2 titanium rods and a PEEK cage/spacer.
I'm relatively pain free, and doing 4 x 30 min walks each day. I've still got some numbness in my left foot/leg and some groin pain.....but overall I'm happy with the results.
How are you doing now that it's been 2 years since your surgery?
About to have the exact same thing done in a few weeks, very nervous! I've never been through anything like this, much less a surgery. It's very helpful to see that you had a fairly easy recovery......I hope since the surgery alomost two years ago, finds you way better and pain free!!! God Bless!!!
i have this same thing you have. except im going to physical therapy, if that doesnt work im probably going to get surgery. its really hard to bend not bad when i twist. so maybe its not as bad as what you had.
I had my back operation last Monday the 8th Sept & had a fusion S1 & disc peplacement L 4/5 I have had some serious pain but everyday is getting easier.
The grab stick is a great idea as I have one here helps a lot.
I had major complications during my op & ended up in ICU just about died so I see each day as a bonus great to see your doing well.
