  • stop saying ummhh. damn it!!

  • @henrikstaaf sorry .. it's a bad habit & i was kinda nervous. the ability to be eloquent often escapes me.

  • maby ur police should also use "enhanced interrogation"

  • your name invalidates any point you might have had, you have liberal friends? i think not

  • Where's the video of condoleeza, so we know exactly what you're talking about.....

  • searched for enhanced interrogation in youtube and you'll find it.

  • I already found it, thanks, the girl who taped it put it up on her youtube channel.

  • Ahh, the OLD "if a terrorist has a nuke" line. The right says that it works. PROVE IT! Open the books and show us the proof. After all, if they didn't do anything wrong they shouldn't have a problem showing it.

  • I am am one of those atheists in a foxhole and I serve honorably in the US military. So please don't assert your opinions as fact. We need a moral high ground if we want any respect in this world and by allowing our government to sanction actions to which we agreed we would not commit certainly doesn't give us any bearing to make demands of others for human rights. Yes the situation is intense. But if we don't maintain what makes us strong, then we are truly lost.

  • Stop watching Jack Bauer.

In real life, WTC goes down. Noone saves it.

  • "People shouldn't fear their government; the government should fear its people"

  • "Our own troops go through waterboarding"????? WTF??.....Sorry, NO they don't.....a small # of select operatives AGREED to it (as training)......Hey, some folks agree to have electric prods shoved up their asses;that doesn't mean it's not torture to do it to another human being. Also, millions of women regularly agree to have sex.Does that mean that rape is OK? ...If it's done against someone's will & it terrorizes them & makes them fear for their life, then it's a criminal act!!!!

  • Reyna Garcia did with here small video more for the democracy than Obama has up to now: She let Rice (and the whole Bush administration) put themselves on the dock.

  • Usually I wouldn't defend this, but...

Everything that happened. Can't just be the Bush Adm. Our system in the US, comprises of checks and balances, that failed. A huge part of the blame gores to the people who looked the other way and could have done something. Those people make up most of the current set of the gov' t. If Obama starts to go after one, the rest will follow and the gov't will be at a "standstill"

  • ALOT of people are to blame for failed works and policies; are too big and obvious to blame a couple offices. In fact, "their(regardless of party affiliation)" have their agendas put out on the daily. yet no one does anything

  • @Reyna Garcia: Thank you so much for your video. I really appreciate your contribution to democracy and I think you are very courageous. You'll make a great journalist when you are done with college. Greetings from Germany!

  • @hhonig I know this is super super late, but thanks. However, I'm not a journalist, I'm an engineer :)

  • I like the bit about Barak Osamas brother living in a shack in a Nairobi slum

  • You're an idiot.

  • Yay college!

  • She looks hot. + She is smart.

  • Wdplan what college do you go? Because that statement comes from someone that is dumb.

  • You guys say she got it so wrong but where is your proof?

  • They released the proof.

  • two main stories right now are the truth about 9/11 and the way wall street is taking over the world. notice i said, "is" and not "trying".

the young turks isn't covering it becasue their true goal is to distract people form finding out about it. spread the word. investigate the truth about 9/11, financial terrorism, and zeitgeist.

  • How can you claim that she authorized torture when she has already explained that waterboarding doesn't constitute torture? You can't just make certain acts counts as torture because you call them that. This guy is a moron.

  • because she said so isnt an excuse except for a dumbfuck like you

  • No, dumbass, not because she said so, because an international body that establishes what is or isn't torture said so. So, now, remind us all why waterboarding is torture that doesn't amount to "because I said so". Ha. Hypocritical moron.

  • ok braininahat the us executed people for waterboarding out troops because it IS torture. stop justifying evil it makes us all look stupid.

  • First, the US hasn't executed anyone for waterboarding our troops.

    Second, waterboarding isn't torture.

    Third, I didn't justify anything.

Fourth, you don't need any help from me looking stupid.

  • I dont know about "executed" but Japan got their asses handed to them for torturing US soldiers. Also, drowning someone until near death is torture. Thats its purpose.

  • noun

1.the act of inflicting excruciating pain, as punishment or revenge, as a means of getting a confession or information, or for sheer cruelty.

2.a method of inflicting such pain.

3.Often, tortures. the pain or suffering caused or undergone.

4.extreme anguish of body or mind; agony.

5.a cause of severe pain or anguish.

  • Torture, according to the United Nations Convention Against Torture, is: "any act by which severe pain or suffering, whether physical or mental, is intentionally inflicted on a person for such purposes as obtaining from him, or a third person, information or a confession, punishing him for an act he or a third person has committed or is suspected of having committed, or intimidating or coercing him or a third person, or for any reason based on discrimination of any kind cont...

  • Waterboarding isn't excrutiangly painful. It gives you the sensation that you're going to drown. We didn't drown anybody.

  • During the Spanish-American War, a U.S. soldier, Major Edwin Glenn, was suspended from command for one month and fined $50 for using "the water cure." (waterboardind) In his review, the Army judge advocate said the charges constituted "resort to torture with a view to extort a confession." He recommended disapproval because "the United States cannot afford to sanction the addition of torture."

  • Comment removed

  • Cases of waterboarding have occurred on U.S. soil, as well. In 1983, Texas Sheriff James Parker was charged, along with three of his deputies, for handcuffing prisoners to chairs, placing towels over their faces, and pouring water on the cloth until they gave what the officers considered to be confessions. The sheriff and his deputies were all convicted and sentenced to four years in prison.

  • Almost every time this comes along, people say, 'This is a new enemy, a new kind of war, and it requires new techniques,'" he says. "And there are always assurances that it is carefully regulated.

  • On Jan. 21, 1968, The Washington Post ran a front-page photo of a U.S. soldier supervising the waterboarding of a captured North Vietnamese soldier. The caption said the technique induced "a flooding sense of suffocation and drowning, meant to make him talk." The picture led to an Army investigation and, two months later, the court martial of the soldier.

  • braininahat, waterboarding is torture because it causes the sensation of drowning. Notice the definition of torture says it is 'any act that causes severe pain or suffering, whether physical or mental.' Feeling that one is drowning, i.e. dying would be extreme mental suffering. Just as it is illegal to threaten someone with death, as in a robbery, even if the gun is empty, the victim's perceiving their death is imminent makes it a serious crime.

    Think about it.

  • You hit the nail on the head. Good point.

  • It is does not cause the sensation of drowning. It is drowning.

  • But doesn't drowning cause the sensation of drowning? ;)

  • Sensation gives the impression that drowning is not actually occuring and that the feeling is being simulated by other means.

  • cont....when such pain or suffering is inflicted by or at the instigation of or with the consent or acquiescence of a public official or other person acting in an official capacity. It does not include pain or suffering arising only from, inherent in, or incidental to, lawful sanctions."

  • my points are not mute. Waterboarding is torture by its history and very definition. Also torture is against thelaw in 2009. So your point is mute.

  • and or, uhm or, you see or, yes or

  • Listen dipshit. After wwII the US executed japaneese soldiers for waterboarding American and allied POW's.

It's a fact so look it up.

  • In the war, US used 2 nuclear bombs against Japan.

The greatest crime in the history of men.

    Get your facts straight.

  • It takes a lot of ignorance to say something like that.

  • And yet it takes even more ignorance do to something like that for military showoff.

  • Military showoff, you mean strategy? There were 700 000 marines on stand-by ready to invade Japan, and the Emperor didn't even surrender after the first bomb, in fact they were already training the population to fight a brutal guerilla war in preparation for invasion. The invasion didn't happen, it's obvious why.

The U.S. military dropped leaflets warning the population of Hiroshima and Nagasaki to evacuate before the bombs.

  • Well that makes it all better.

  • hahahaha, that's the most popular argument for the bombs, it also is false ;DDDDD

  • Forgive me, but the popular argument is that it caused Japan to surrender, the details of why the bombs were preferable to an invasion aren't really common knowledge.

  • Yeah and the irony is it hit some of our own soldiers

  • well come on over to my place then and with your permission I will waterboard you.

i think you'd be pretty fucking surprised just what you would admit to in those conditions.

i bet that i could get you to admit to sleeping with your own mother within 30 minutes.

your brain may understand that you are not actually drowning, but your body will not, and that would be pretty awful for you. but since the US govt says it's not torture you shouldn't mind at all.

    fucking moron.

  • But when you start assuming that you have to agree with everything the government tells you, it becomes dangerous. Seriously, don't you think that "waterboarding doesn't constitute torture" because that way they're allowed to do it? Waterboarding fits the dictionary definition, the only reason it "doesn't constitute torture" is because it's not on the "official" list of torture practices which conveniently allowes the US government to practice it. We ARE allowed to question that.

  • That's a nice strawman. Who is talking about agreeing with everything hte government tells us. The facts about this case have come out. We are looking at them and saying: "Okay, no torture happened here." Period.

So, unless you have something substantive to add, you might want to back away from attacking someone who merits our gratitude, not your ignorant scorn.

  • I don't know, maybe because waterboarding legally doesn't count as torture. I know, maybe because it doesn't even fit the dictionary defintion of torture. And since you have no argument for why it's immoral, you have no argument. So instead of bad-mouthing people who did their utmost within the bounds of the law to protect Americans, you should educate yourself.

  • Woot Stanford!!!!

  • this is the story of hurricane!!!

  • Condolezza Rice is a war criminal.

She must be tried and executed.

  • @Richardgwm

You are insane. You are advocated a sentence before the trial. So much for rule of law.

  • @help4343 Reading comprehension does not appear to be your strength.

  • the bill obama signed about guntamano bay said he isn't closing guantamano, but is only thinking about closing it in 1 year, and in the meantime creating more fascilites of detention in afganistan. he hasn't cancelled the torturing. any u.s.a. citizen can be taken, tortured, held without charges, never be tried, and over 1 million u.s.a. citizens are on the terrorist watchlist. do you think there are 1 million u.s.a. citizens who really might be terrorists?

  • sorry, i don't know what hyperbole means. but i do know that tyt hasn't commented on obama continuing torture, still no habieus corpus, still no freedom of press, still no right to protest (all thses are in the constitution as BASIC RIGHTS ESENTIAL TO OUR FREEDOM), unrestrictions of the federal reserve, "which is no more federal than the federal express", as many like to point out. (sorry, my spelling sucks)

  • You're going to have to supply evidence, not just claims, otherwise you're just like every other blowhard on the internet.

  • Comment removed

  • yes, TYT presents 99% of the truth. but hide that neither democrats or republicans are in power. am i just a crazy paranoid druggie? bankers plan to take over the world. am i wrong that we are about to become a fascist state? please prove it. please research this and provide proof if you can. i've looked for proof otherwise, and all i've found is prooof that we are SOON headed towards a global fascist government of slavery. .

  • yes you are a crazy paranoid druggie. Prove you are wrong? It is up to you to provide some kind of evidence of what you are saying. What do you mean by a "global fascist government of slavery"?

You must belong to the party of NO.

  • sounds like maybe you read something and it's got you a bit worked up. it doesn't even seem you know what you mean by a 'global fascist government of slavery'. someone who subscribes to hyperbole could argue that we're already there.

  • I thought I was perverted lol

  • I'm pretty sure you're wrong. I'm dating her and yeah she's hot.

  • I'm pretty sure you're wrong. I'm dating her and yeah she's hot.

  • Crims0n5: "I'm pretty sure you're wrong. I'm dating her and yeah she's hot."

buckamoona:"I'm pretty sure you're wrong. I'm dating her and yeah she's hot."

    LOL, sloppy seconds?

  • You mean Cenk?

  • -_-

Tell the truth. Youre just trying to rescue an unfortunate comment, arent you :)

  • Ahhh a Fellow zzz:er Praise be with you.

  • ima hit it i live net to her!

  • the united states giving the thumbs-up to torture sets a horrible, horrible, horrible precedent for the rest of the world. since we have the dubious role as poster-child for liberal western values, dozens of oppressive dictatorships love pouncing on human rights abuses by the usa in order to justify their own

  • Reyna Garcia is sooo cute!!!!!!!

  • She at least sounds really friendly.

  • WOW....

  • But that also means that you can't complain when someone else tortures American troops.

And in case you didn't know you guys executed some Japanese soldiers who had waterboarded US troops, so by that logic it would be okay to kill some of the people who did the waterboardings or the ones who ordered it, at lest morally that is.

  • is that why the vast majority of veterans of all wars are AGAINST torture???

    you are an idiot.

  • What actual facts do you have that can prove your claim? By facts, i mean fully examined information. Information that cannot be disproved, using science and debate. If you can produce those facts, then no one can argue with you.

  • go read about the geneva convention you fucking mouth breathing shitbrain lmao i always wonder if you guys are for real if your just trying to make yourself look as fucking dumb as possible to spread more hate for republicans because your a liberal just trying to make the other side look bad or i wonder if your realy for real and not torturing is gay and pussy lol are you from kentucky?

torture = illegal, immoral ,unnecessary ,a rednecks idea of a good time

  • I was joking lol.

If I support Torture on *suspected* Terrorist...

then by that logic, I'd have to support torture on U.S. citizens that are deemed Terrorist *suspects* also...

    (Dangerous) Slippery Slope...

Americans who support torture don't realize that Torture would then be used on THEM if they (for whatever reason) are even mildly suspected of knowing any info on any future plot to hurt other Americans (even if the American suspect(s) are innocent)....

    "Woopsie Doosie!"

  • Trust me, they are are stupid as they sound, and we are trying to making them shut the fuck up as hard as we can.

Freedom of speech is both a blessing and a curse.

  • Actually you should watch the entire clip on Reyna's youtube account before you make comments about the motivations of people.

The guy who she whispers to is pissed of at Condi not the other student. Condi, just before this part of the clip, talked to him in a very condescending, scolding manner. When she whispers to him, she is letting him know that he is an idiot, at least in her opinion.

  • What did he do to allegedly be scolded?

  • Put "Condoleezza Rice meets with some students" in the search box and you can watch the clip on Reyna Garcia's channel.

  • The ultimate form of arrogance, to say what she did so blatantly, clearly behaving as though no repercussions are coming. Or *should* be coming.

I look forward to seeing what she looks like in prison-orange jumpsuits...

  • "I look forward to seeing what she looks like in prison-orange jumpsuits... "

I'll just bet you do, you unAmerican Values, women prison movie watching liberal, you, Fred13B!

    Ick- patooey!

Actually, Condi IS butt-ugly. Even in a carrot suit.

  • I wish I could appreciate your comedy in these troubled times, but people are really dumb enough to say something like that. So sad, what our country has become.

  • "I wish I could appreciate your comedy in these troubled times, but people are really dumb enough to say something like that. So sad, what our country has become." - Laughter got us thru the ignorance of the last 8 years. Satire magnifies the ignorance that got us here. We will prevail schnooky ookums.

  • I think it's very cool that they had Rice there in spite of the protests AND they got a legitimate question and answer out of her regarding the torture. It keeps Rice from fading into the background on this. WTG.

  • Now the Republicans best arguments is how they are going to defend Torture.

    How low can you get?

  • go stanford....woohoo

  • where is the video of Maddow mentioning TYT?

  • I love this. Every time these Bush Admin people talk, they shove yet another foot in their mouth. Rice basically admitted to being an "accomplice" to torture. Come on Justice Department, aren't you watching?

  • Did I hear Bob Dylan Hurricane when the video started? =D

  • I believe that you did. =D

  • Condi Rice is one of the most evilest people I have ever seen. When I see her I think this bitch has another agenda and I am so glad she has been caught out with her lies and hyprocrisy.

  • In a status pyamid the people at the top are expected to act a good deal more like criminals than people who are just functionaries in the structure. In this case it seems like the "leaders" were actually subservient to "superior criminals" or world financial kingpins. She no doubt believes she has immunity and as long as the "defensive measures" argument holds she might not go to jail. The entire war was about pillaging Iraq and made up to get rich. It's backfiring and might go south.

  • People do all kinds of odd stuff to be central in a power structure. It is similar in ethic to a poker game where they are all hoping to play and win. Maybe Condi wants to be classier than she actually is and found a way. This sort of loyalty is a good deal similar to Hitler's Henchmen style of loyalty, where the "less than loyal" were told they were going to take a shower. We don't like to think of the top of the power pyramid to be that way. She could be demoted and go to prison.

  • Dude Condolezza Rice is the GOP's whore and a war criminal but she is a fuckin political lion. She knows how to get what she (or the GOP) want done. She might be an awful person, but if you are tryin to get into a field in politics, even a less important job, you could learn a lot from her

  • Personally I prefer no one learns her tactics. A master criminal might be able to teach us a lot about breaking into banks but I still wouldn't want him giving classes to kids.

  • Not true. Making methods more widely known is definitely beneficial, you must raise awareness. This would allow it to be more preventable because the more people know about it the easier it becomes to combat. Either that or so many people will try that they will ruin it.

  • Mm that's a good point. I guess I'm just being petty but I'd still prefer to see her in a jail cell while real professors teach the class about her methods though ;)

  • Where do you get "whore"?

  • reyna...dont take her class...she'll remember you. and considering how unscrupulous she is...she might fail your noble ass.

  • I bet Reyna gets laid tonight! Good for her.

  • Hey Cenk, without Ana the show is ahh just not as interesting. That's my opinion.

  • Say it, you want the boobies

We wanna know what the boobies think Cenk

  • I prefer it without her.

  • Rosannafriend - I like her style she is funny without trying to be. Plus cute as hell.

  • I guess, sometimes she's alright its true. I just don't really see anything special she contributes. She doesn't strike me as all that intelligent.

  • I am glad that the Republican party and the Bush admin are being exposed for who and what they really are. It only confirms that the American made the best choice when Obama was elected. It is also nice seeing the American youth taking more of an interest in politics.

  • Thank goodness we have smart kids. I hope this young lady makes it all the way to the top. Stay smart and stay honest.

  • you are is you're, not your.

    too much not to much.

they are is they're not their

    their is not there.

didn't your mind control institution learn y'all any good englis? lol.

  • Some people never read so they don't really understand the nuances of contractions, spelling, or grammar in general. It's pretty pathetic. I can spot a typo or an intentional use of shorthand like "u r" as "you are" and look past it. But fundamental misunderstandings like saying "could of" instead of "could have" or "could've" are hallmarks of ignorarance and a lack of academic training. These people should just be quiet.

  • darn, i forgot could of, would of. great call.

  • You people are way to PC. The enemy must be laughing at these debates and youtube videos.

  • "You people are way to PC. The enemy must be laughing at these debates and youtube videos"

the enemy? there always must be an enemy, I bet Fox news told you so...

Just consider this fact: right now, as we speak, there are at least 3 young American women journalists in foreign custody (2 in North Korea and 1 in Iran) accused of spying, etc

None has been tortured yet, hopefully won't be. Because torture is illegal under the international law, or is it?

  • Enemy?? No my friends have beheading parties every friday night.. Ignorant fool.

  • who's beheading, you retard? it's an old news just like lynching in America ...

  • Oh, OK...

You're right, there are no enemies.....What an idiot.

  • "No my friends have beheading parties every friday night.. Ignorant fool."

watch your friends having fun you goddamn retarded scum of the earth

    /watch?v=uTCOyd_ZQtE

  • "the enemy? there always must be an enemy, I bet Fox news told you so..."

Does this mean that we are...........Friends? LOL

  • Hi Dick Cheney.

  • The peanut gallery has spoken!

  • u again? is that really ur motorcycle cuz I like motorcycles

  • He wants to be your boyfriend because you have a sexy motorbike. LOL.

  • Shit. I was afraid of that happening. Oh well. Maybe I can put him in a cage and take him to county fairs. "See the amazing conservative lunatic as he drools and calls everyone"liberal scum!"

  • "everyone" is about right considering the recent polls. 69% approval rating for Obama means he thinks 69% of America is scum. Why does he hate Americans? Is he a terrorist?

  • You bash people for using bad grammar, then you unleash this genius bout into logic? You are not equipped to judge others.

  • Yeah I am. Thanks for your input.

  • I stand corrected. After looking at it, the logic you display is impeccable. I don't know what I was thinking. Sheeple with typing skills should know better than to drop inane arguments at the drop of a hat. Not that I'm referring to you. You obviously think thoroughly before bothering to type and I salute you. Are you running for office? You'd have my vote!!

  • I agree pulsar,

I read this in the huffington post and couldn't understand what information cenk could possibly get from her other than what was in the video.

  • How the hell can we the US of A stand for torture when we come to other country and exploiting their human rights! HOLY SH*T BATMAN! TALK ABOUT HYPOCRISY!

  • Maybe Condi can teach a class via webcam from her prison cell.

  • whats the big deal about torture, its war, people get their asses kicked in wars.

  • No ! People get kill in war, not tortured ! If you shoot a battleman in the leg he will of course suffer but this is not torture.

Do you realise what you are saying. Would you LIKE being tortured so one can get information out of you, information you DONT have ?

  • if i'm an innocent bystander i agree with you but if i'm a participant in the war... i'll have to accept it.

  • You have to accept it if the country you are battling against is not a democracy or a country not standing by human rights.

USA is a democracy and is supposed to stand by human rights.

No surprise North Corean army would torture you. It would not change the image the world has about this country. But hell, USA ? Torture ?

If USA can use torture then what is the point defending democracy and human rights ?

  • Destruction of democracy is a far more consistent theme in US policy than its defence.Take the policy towards South America as an example: in almost every country there they destroyed democracies, put in military dictatorships and trained them to torture their own people ("School of the Americas"). They destroyed Iranian democracy, brought Saddam to power, supported Suharto in Indonesia etc, etc. Politics is about Power, not ethics.

  • It's illegal. That's all. It doesn't matter what anybody thinks. I heard a story about a guy that owned a hunting cabin that kept getting robbed so he set up some traps to catch the thieves. The thieves got shot by a shotgun he had set up in the garage. Yes, they deserved it. They had it coming. But the owner was convicted for setting booby traps in his own house. It was against the law. There's no excuses. Nobody is above the law.

  • Why does she speak like that? It sounds so phony, put on, not her real speaking voice! But, kudos to her for taping!

  • do you know what nervosity is ?

  • I think she has a cute voice.....

  • she sounds hot id hit it

  • there's a much bigger issue here, and that all you have to talk about?

how 'bout, get off Myspace and read a newspaper.

  • "ha.ha." very clever. any other insightful thoughts there, deep thinker?

  • No. I'm done. I won't waste any more of your precious news paper reading time. :)

  • lol good. need a link?

  • The only pearl necklace condi's ever had is the one around her neck! Maybe thats why she's such an evil bitch!
