  • Lively vibrant Real Relevant - unlike today's so called 'music' i think i once read somewhere that David Cassidy, a girl was trampled to death at one of his concerts and he said, 'That's it', and he stopped his concert touring for good i think, The Who, 22 people in Cincinnati, ohio died of being trampled to death, and the Who didn't even care, especially Pete Townshend that fucking asshole, i'd love to kick that fucker's ass, he even made a smart remark regarding the 22 deaths, he didn't care

  • Yeah, He Dumped the Arrogant one and went for the kind girl with the short hair that Mrs. P was nice to LOL! Very Cool episode,..

    DAVID DAVID DAVID DAVID

  • This was such a great episode. I felt so sorry for that girl, Kathy with the short hair, but at least Mrs. P treated her well!!

  • @TypesALot You know, if this was real life, Kathy would have been the pick of the bunch.

  • @WiseGuy02 - I think he wound up being nice to her and dropping that Janet, who was not even a nice person and had a wicked chip on her shoulder or something!! Can't believe I remember those details 40 years later!!!

  • Way Back in the Dey ,, I mean Day LOL!! DAVID IS A FOXX

  • ULTRA FOXXY DAVE-O!!!

  • This HAS got to be one of the greatest memories from growing up!!! I came along in '67, but LOVED this music!!!!!

  • I had a heavy crush on Lori Partridge (Susan Dey) when this show was a running series. Not too many adolescent boys then who didn't notice...

  • This was my favorite tv show! My father hated it- He thought Rock and Roll would lead to the ruin of America's youth. (I don't think it did"

  • I lovelovelovelove this song and episode.

David you are so very *amazing*!!

  • David was chased by teenage girls, yet they always seemed to be playing to an audience of old farts.

  • @WiseGuy02 OMG... LMAO!!!!! THat is SOO true!!! It seems like they were always playing for some dinner club with old people as the audience!!!!!

  • @WiseGuy02 lol ya ikr but i still luvluvluv da show is ther a season 3??

  • @WiseGuy02 xD ikr my mom makes me watch the show i asked her the same thing in the samewords and she was like shut up Julia and i said i was only saying the truth haha

  • @WiseGuy02 i always applaud David Cassidey for never doing a concert again after that girl got killed by trampling at one of his concerts back in the seventies, i think, english assholes 'The Who' did and maybe still dont care about the 22 people killed at their cinncinati, ohio concert, pete townsend even said a smartalec remark, townsend, ur a fucking piece of shit, u think ur cool, u suck ass, roger daltreys a fuckin weirdo asshole too, bunch of pricks

  • My Sister and I would fight over which song was better...this one or "I Think I Love You"...I ALWAYS LOOOVED this one better!!!! LOVE the PARTIDGE FAMILY!!!!

  • best song on the first album!

  • One of my favorite episodes! The girl at .44 also made brief appearances on the Brady Bunch

  • Hard to beleive David Cassidy is 60.

  • I remember watching this episode.

  • David Cassidy is an underrated singer. I would put him up there with Paul McCartney, John Lennon and Mick Jagger.

  • @tedm1975 David Cassidy may have very well been up there with both of them had it not been for the Partridge Family. However,it was the Partridge Family sitcom that gave him exposure to the masses. He had resented the stigma for a long time until he inevitably aged and accepted it once and for all.

  • i love all kinds of music, love this song, i grew up with this song, it has alot of meaning

  • Great song. I remember this episode.

    Thanks for the post.

  • The Partridge Family 4 ever! The Brady Bunch never!

  • Of course, with the exception of Maureen McCormick.

  • The Partridge 4 ever! The Brady Bunch never!

  • I remember singing to this song when i was a kid. Happier, simpler times....sigh...... :)

  • Love this song!!!!!!

  • I so wanted to be David Cassidy back then - lol

  • great song

  • This was my second-fave PF song, after I Think I Love You.

I remember the episode like it was yesterday - although it was closer to 49 years ago

Keith was wanted and desired by so many girls who were in love with him- but he kept running away because he was obsessed with with a girl who wasn't so in love with him.

Tell me I've got that right.

  • @LittleDragon2000 sounds like the thing going on between barry williams and muareen mccormick, i like the bb too

  • I was in 7th grade when this came out,had the David Cassidy hair, the fringed levi's and waffle stompers. Could'nt have timed it better, but I havent been as popular with the girls since. :)

  • echt geil das es leute giebt die sowas reinstellen ich liebe die patridge family besonders david cassedy er ist einfach klasse

  • The middle break sounds like the Beatles !

  • great friggin episode.

    look how cute Cathy is...!

  • Great scene to go with the song. Although it was the B-side to I Think I Love You, in some ways I liked Somebody Wants to Love You more. Maybe not as catchy as ITILY, but more real and soulful.

  • Not all is lost. Apparently LPs are making a comeback.

  • @calvinbears LPs have never really disappeared.

  • And yes, PF was a good show among others. I mean, what do we have nowdays to watch? Crap like Dexter? Has our society and morals sunk that low?

  • I used to listen to this song off my LP back in the 70's. LP is long gone and I haven't heard this song for 35 years or so. I Googled the lyrics because I remember it was something about 'when you're all alone and far away from home'.

  • BTW, Laurie at 17-18 years old was so HOT

  • Another great early 70's hit, so 70's it was the best time ever even though I was a kid it was the best time!

  • i love david! i just wanna grab his cute face and kiss him!

  • so would my momma. this is awecward. i didn't spell that right.

  • its just eye candy...good stuff

  • best PF song

  • another great song from the partridge family! i love all of their songs! wish songs were like this these days!

    iwillalwaysloveyoudavid!!

  • Susan Dey is a Fox!

    OMG ;)--

  • what ever happened to Actress Claire Wilcox the girl who played cathy in the green dress in this episode 1st season 6 th show and one other episode during the 3th season. This actress played in many tv shows and a movie with tony curtess.

  • The best song on the first album. Sounds great in stereo. David Cassidy's vocals steal the show everytime.

  • This would have made a great Jimi Hendrix song.

  • does anyone know the name of the film this song was featured, all i can recall is 2 chicks in the same bed, i think it was in the mid 90's

  • maybe "i think i do"?

  • I have the first 2 seasons of this, I know by now there should be more released, I got the greatest hits cd. This was a entertaining show that always had a lesson to learn. David and his stepmom (Shirley) getting to work together was pretty cool. I was much older when I found out that David was the only one actually, he'd go to a studio after doing the show, to record the tracks with some other back up singers, I forget they're, name. He worked his butt off, regardless the show was great, karen

  • Actually it was not only Davit, but Shirley Jones also recorded the songs, and in the show, everybody but them were lip-syncing. It's rather amazing.

BTW, this is my favorite song.

  • well it was still a good show

  • OF COURSE! Why wouldn't it be? ^_^

  • I thought YouTube didn't process in stereo...(?) Sounds great.

  • It's pretty great going back and now watching these shows with an adult's understanding. When I was a child it was all about the great music, but now it's easy to understand what the story of this episode was really about.

I thought Keith's treatment, at the end, of the "knockout" girl was just great. It's what she deserved for acting like an ice princess.

  • Hi U are so right! I loved this show as a young child but i had a crazy crush on David loved all the music my mother took me in 72 to his concert and i was beyond excited. Now when i watch the videos or i did buy the dvds i look at it totally different. It was a great comedy show very well written and acted Danny &Rueben were great the chemistry they had together made every episode funny u didnt get some of the jokes when your a kid and Shirley was great and each show had a lesson to learn!

  • @33Mark221 Keith had admired the fact that she was letting on she didn't know who he was and playing hard to get. That was the whole point.

  • What a fantastic voice he had. I simply can't imagine these great songs without it.

  • @Bluespeyer Agreed!

  • David Cassidy was Huge during this era he used to perform live concerts in stadiums across the country on the weekends and tape the Partridge Family during the week he was on the cover of every teen magizine for several years straight but working everyday for several years straight brought a premature in to the PF

  • the episode was about a plain girl who had a crush on Keith who eventually decided to be nice to her eventhough Keith mainly dated cute girls you know looking beyond the shallow a lesson you obviously have yet to learn

  • She was a girl of 13, he was a young man. Nothing to do with her being plain.

  • It's kind of hard to be nice to a girl who's stalker material. There's such a thing as being smooth and not displaying that you like somebody.

  • He should put this on a setlist sometimes and some other rare ones would be awesome

  • Man, David Cassidy has a lot to be proud of. His singing on these choice songs is spot-on, and his work will live forever. Much respect.

  • @Jopy98 And he was hot. That was a plus. No, but he was a terrific singer, and does have a lot to proud of. I saw an interview of his where he said he didn't even want to do the show.

  • thanks for the great video!!

  • Very well put together video. I have a lot of these shows on VHS taped from Baltimore in 1981 and that end of the song on stage was the episode where Danny got his feet tangled and made a fool of the family. Awesome!!

  • From the 'B' side of their mega first hit 'I Think I Love You'...

  • ...and a bit more trivia - the single (mono) version does not contain the 'ahh ahh's' in the chorus, their only on the STEREO album version, as is heard here in this great vid!

  • ...and even more trivia - the first pressing of the single (Bell 910) is rare and more valuable than the second and third pressings. How to tell the difference?

Third pressing: number 910X, group name THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY; second pressing: number 910, group name THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY; the rare first pressing: number 910, group name THE PATRIDGE FAMILY. I have American second and third pressings of this as well as the Japanese version (sung in English) and picture sleeves.

  • Oh darn, now I'll have to look out for those pressings!!! Great info, thanks!
