this board is well worth the money. i didnt pay for it a client wanted my asus maximus formula 2 mobo so i installed that board in his machine and used this one in mine. so i lost some money on that build, but it was all worth in for me in the long run
hey brother how do you like this board have you done any ocin w/it yet? yea you have to cut the k8 holes on the tunics bracket i think the best cooler for this board is th v8 im using one to cool my q9400 oced to 3.0 and all my cores are under 40c and dont get much higher at full load i also have my corsair pc6400 oced to 900 and all this without any voltage increases this is by far the best p45 mobo on the market in my opinion everyone will love it
yeah that would be nice if it would be SLI but almost all gigabyte motherboards are crossfire x if not all of them. but i dont know if you read or not i am using this board with mac osx instead of windows, alot more stable and runs the games i pleay alot better. basicly i would get about 60+ fps in windows in osx i get 90+ fps, so that is a huge jump in performance
How you get MAC for your PC? That's awesome! I might have to do that if i build. Oh, one more q.. If i had one HD 4870 1gb and put a second one in CFX, would i get better FPS? cause is crossfire, it's only x8 speed vs x16 with only one.. What you think?
yeah i know what you mean, but its ok for what i am doing right now. i will end up buying another sound card some day for what i do and for WoW its ok. BTW i am running osx on this board so thats why i say its does what i need it to do. lol
ya, my video card is an XFX HD 4650 (1gb) and it sucks. I will probably get an HD 4890, or wait for the 5xxx series. I would never go nVidia cuz they are way overpriced. also got an E8400 but want a Q9550, what CPU u using for it?
i am using the E8400 as well but i have mine overclocked to about 4ghz, my nivida card wasnt that bad for a 9800gtx+ but they are good cards and i like the cuda function even tho i cant use it in mac osx. i will soon post a video of my system when i can get the time to do so. so say tuned.
nice yeah i overclocked mine in the bios so it dont matter what os i am running, i am also using the tuniq tower 120 for my cpu cooler works really well, but its big and heavy
yep sure did, and its cause of the NB heatsinks and the mosfet heatsinks. but it wasnt much problem took it to work and used our big belt sander. i work at a machine shop.
the board will support any video card you put in it. i am not going to use cross fire so there for i went with nvidia, and also i went that route for hackintoshing this board.
Yeah, I know it still supports any video card, but I'd buy an ati card for it just so I could crossfire in the future if I ever felt the need. You could've saved $30 by getting a ud3r if you wanted to use nvidia
i bought it less than a year, and it's now over heating much, almost 60 degrees when idel. what can coz this?

yeah you will get better fps, it dont matter what mode its in being 16x or 8x nvidia is the same way.

it's a fantastic motherboard, however the integrated audio sucks when gaming, so i got a sound blaster X-Fi.

my E8400 is at 3.6GHz (3.0 right now cuz I am reloading my OS and trying to make it rock solid), with a OCZ Vendetta 2 heatsink
