@grrrrrrrrawk Probably not but he's there for a reason, like all the other characters are. They're all exaggerated every-day people. Frank being a bit of a dull old man, Owen with his scruffy farm life, Alice and Hugo are simple and care-free, Mrs Cropley has awful recipes and Jim has his stammer. David and Geraldine seem less exaggerated than the others which does balance it out lol

I love Jim's wife! I was so sorry that she didn't show up at all after this. I guess they decided to get rid of her and make Jim a dirty old pervert instead. I think she would have been funnier. Owen is enough of a pervert for that kind of humour to be present enough in the show.
