• It is possible for the government/taxpayers to provide healthcare to everybody, but is it the role of the government to provide healthcare to American citizens? Does our constitution mandate that? Should the government take care of all of our needs?

  • I know my health care premium has gotten so HIGH recently, I was forced to apply for coverage with a different company. The app. for the new coverage is pending.. I don't think there is an easy, perfect solution to the medical care question.. It is a volatile mix of economic ideology, social class status, taxes, money and profit. By the way, you look extremely attractive in this video!

  • What are you seventy million Americans up to? That's about what, one in four of you that don't have health care. And what, about only one in ten of you manage to get out and vote. Wake up zombies, start a revolution! America, land of the bullies and the sick. At least idiots can rise to the top. God bless America, please.

  • I HATE DRUG COMPANIES!!!

yes I do think you are able to have that happen down there....90% of weath control by 1% population...God where did we go wrong..... See Below:

  • Oh yea when we made Corpration into legal person...Nevermind Har Har......I am canadain and love my free healthcare and drug plans....VOTE FOR THE RIGHT PERSON DOWN THERE YOU PEOPLE....Peace and Love to all families that have lost due to PROFIT GREEDY JERKS! Take Care All!

  • HA ha ha ha ha lol!!! You crack me up!!!

  • Americans, in general, are very competitive, which makes this country no.1 in the world. once you take the competition out of any endeavor it grows stagnant. The gov. we have today could not run a five cent lemonade stand, without having thier wives, children, friends and relatives getting a piece of the action. for every dollar they spent on real issues they take a hundred in pork barrel spending.

  • Bravo! Bravo! So accurate I can add almost nothing. Great comment.

  • 1. Govt insurance programs (like Medicaid) consistently waste less money on bureaucratic costs than ANY private insurance company.

    2. Free market competition is an awesome thing, but it's a real thing not some magical cure-all. Real things have boundaries; one of the boundaries of the free market is something called negative, or adverse, selection. (Educate yourself on it.) People who claim that health insurance can run on a free market model understand neither insurance nor the free market.

  • Medicaid is a waste of money, the welfare reform act moved at least 20% of the welfare recipients to medicaid, get a note from a doctor and your on medicaid for life. The word that has been lost is RESPONSIBILITY, everyone should be accountable for themselves, their children, and their actions.

  • prick, what about accidents caused by others? hmmmm perhaps you could use stem cell research

  • kjaffy; All work related accidents or illnesses are covered by SSI, all drivers are required by law to have accident insurance, and emergency rooms are required to give medical aid, if you are not insured, most of the people on medicaid have never workrd or paid into Soc. Sec., and if it was not for us pricks, you cocksuckers would be out of business. hmmmmm

  • out of business? elaborate please.... and also, you're telling me that its perfectly fine for people who have been poisoned, accidentally or otherwise, or a person who through no fault of thier own has a heart attack, stroke, cancer should be accountable financially, when things like gas is so cheap, and could and should have more tax for healthcare,

  • perhaps spending less tax dollars on invading other countries for no good reason would go a long way to stabilize the economy in order to have a healthy country. all i see is fat people getting fatter and the "hard working" lower class , being treated like second rate citizens, seems plain to me which of these you adhere to sir.

  • kjaffy; Elaborate, are you stupid, if there were no pricks, you idiot cocksucker, what would you suck? Understand? America is a republic not a socialist country. The constitution does not say anything about socialized medicine, as I stated previously, no one is turned away at emergency rooms, including heart attacks and poisoning or any other illness needing immediate treatment. Everyone is accountable for thier actions. I guess you do not own a car, or you would not mention the cost of gas.

  • I see your point but i domt agree. and yes i own a car, i live in a country which produces its own oil yet has higher prices for fuel cigarettes and alcohol than any other place on earth.

  • kjaffy; Someone has to pay for the socialized medicine in your country, nothing is free, everything, in one way or another, must be paid for, usually by taxes. Gas, cigarettes, and booze are the most taxed items in many countries, especially America. Start walking, stop smoking, and only drink water, you will be healthier and richer.

  • Another class envy statement. This HC system does not work in Canada why would it work here. You want a surgeon operating on you that is underpaid, undertrained and unhappy? All doctors will then have names that most would be able to pronounce.Tell your mom she has to have a potentially life saving operation by some resident from the middle east and then see how you feel. You can't see the BIG Picture.

  • I love the over expensive system that ENSURES I can have an MRI at the drop of a hat and not on some stupid death list waiting.

  • look at brittish healthcare, which is free and works extremely well. your research is poor and intelligence i can only assume is just as bad!

  • People have bought into the line "the govt. cant do anything right"...that's just ridiculous...private insurance takes 33% of every healthcare dollar paid out...medicare and medicaid take 3% of every dollar they pay out...that is an enormous savings...enough to insure every uninsured person

  • I am marked as "uninsurable" by the insurance industry...they consider my "life" a "bad risk" for their "profit"...through no fault of my own I have inherited a heart problem from which both my father and brother died from prematurely...under a unversal healthcare system the "profit" is taken out of the system and I am looked at as someone in need of medical assistance and not a "risk" to be excluded or a number to be included onto some corporation's bottom line

  • That would also be my question. Very well stated.

  • Just watched your Health Care Vid and have to say a non profit way is the best way. No one should make money of the health care system. It should be for all.

    peace

  • Taking profits out of healthcare might be a solution; however, that doesn't necessitate it be done by the government. The government does nothing right- remember that. An alternative is a more localized, cooperative economic system that turns ordinary members/customers into shareholders instead of wealthy elitists.

  • it is hard to say what right answer is . but im not rich but im not poor. i have no health care nor can i afford any. if i got sick they would take my home .

if i got health care it would take my home too .

so i would say the system does not work.

.but remember lawyers and insurance Co. is the biggest part of the problem .

  • lonelygirl, you are very beautiful though even though I don't agree with you on healthcare, and I like your comedy videos! :)

  • mkiese, actually there are private schools. they are not for profit. but they're not government run either. the Catholic Church runs many private hospitals, it is a Chrurch and is not for profit.

  • fringe111, michael moore is a communist and he supports Castro. Castro murdered over 141,000 people for trying to flee his communist regime.

  • no lonleygirl, I don't want a communist system, if everybody has equal access that means we all have poor access. Also if the government controls it, then politics are in it, the majority in this country thinks abortion is wrong, so under your proposal you coudln't have one...

  • Go see Sicko and you'll find out.

  • I'm going to make a similar question on this issue. I was told they shy away from this one topic. I wonder why?????

  • I think a single-payer, Non-profit system is the way to go. As long as profit and money is in the equation, that will always be the utmost focus and goal, not healthcare.

Healthcare is a Basic human right. If we can entrust the government to run K-12 public schools, Police service, & fire service, why not healthcare as well? None of the examples just listed are for profit. Just imagine if they were.

  • The answer is no.

  • That's a very good question, goyl. You may hate me for saying it, but as screwed up as our private healthcare system is, I'd bet on the government making it even more screwder. Maybe lobbying reform has to happen before anything substantial can be done. I'm not holding me breath. BTW, you look really good in this video, and it was nice to hear your natural voice.

  • It can be both but people are not going to like paying more taxes.

  • sexy one. I like her!!!!!!!

  • A health care system can be single payer and and for profit. The government provides health care, but negotiates hard ball with those that provide the service. It puts monopoly control in the hands of the consumer (american citizens)through the conduit of the government, but the actual companies providing the services have to compete with each other for the business. America! Join the rest of the developed world! Nice vid:-)

  • I think so long as the insurance companies are making big bucks from health care the current system will not change and I think that's sad. Socialized medicine would have saved my parents thousands of dollars.

  • You are right on with this point. The hospitals, companies that own them, & insurance co. are the ones making profit. My husband is a MD & the insurance Co. are always ripping him off on paying. No, the Dr.'s are not getting rich. Malpractice is also killing the MD's. Maybe Socialized care would take care of that too!

  • äh? My English is, today, more than bad..But I think the answer is clear...I hope

  • Love it!

  • It seems to me that if you take away the profits, you get people who actually want you to be healthy to save the government money in the long run so you would indeed get better health care than you do under our current system. Socialized health care is the answer and works for lots of people in other countries.

  • I believe that everyone deserves healthcare. Period. So if it means some people don't have the exact same 'upper class care'...well oh well! Too many poor and middle class people are needlessly ill...and die on a dialy bases...just because no one will take their insurance, or that they do not have any to begin with!! Great video!

  • nationalize health care, a government single payer system is what we have in France today. Health care should be a right not a privilege.

  • the hospital need to be the ones that is over heath care so they can put the money to work in takin care of the people
