Glad to hear I'm not the only one that appreciates this episode!
I can so associate, and I think that's why I found it so powerful. His speech at the end is so divulging. For one who has longed for love, it can become such a frightening prospect to put it all on the line, and put yourself at the mercy of another's acceptance. The doctor tried, and he was rejected for another man. Grissom sees in him the magnitude of the risk he wants so desperately to take with Sara.
Almost every middle aged men experiance the same thing They sometimes forget what joy life can bring from the earths wonders Having fun and living life to the fullest with the utmost care balanced with a rewarding job is the ultimate lifestyle
I think it's very sad. When he says I could not do that (could not put another person first) I feel so bad for Sara. The look on Sara's face is so awful. I am just glad they do get together later. But it seemes to me that this is the first time either one of them think about being together at all.
yess i really love the line of grissom also.....grissom was like torn to give up his career as a supervisor and reveal his love for sara, but on this episode he let it out and totally related his lovelife on the case and another sad part is, he wasnt able to prove the crime of the doctor.....GSR forever!! grissom forever!!
I Watched this ep last year and let out a scream when it was over cos we finally found out that Grissom had feelings for Sarah. I only began watching CSI last April but I have seen all episodes from 1-6 like a hundred times. I am hooked. Seven 7 is only begining here. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS CLIP.
I think this is Grisom's best monologue ever. It is the kind of modern universal philosophical truths that goes unnoticed by many, yet experienced my many. Most people cannot put into words what Jerry Bruckheimer has through his character, Gilbert Grissom. A true masterpiece.
thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm, most middle aged men I know are nothing like Grissom. Most I know are married, have kids, etc. and aren't socially inept.

omg that's so dramatic and intense it's hard to look away

Jeez.. Grissom looks so tired and introspective, completely torn. And for him to reveal so much. This was an amazing scene.
