I think if the original director could get on board, a director's cut would be fantastic. Vagrant Story as we know it is missing about 50% of the content desired (as reported by Matsuno). I think a remake with the full & intended game would be amazing.

no matter how you put it, a remake is impossible nowdays. all games are based on a comercial basis and the videogame market has vastly changed in the last 10 years. VS was a game that appealed to a market that now no longer exists. this was a time when videogames were breaking such new ground that serious intelligent people were using it as a means of revaluating reality. now the videogame market is relegated to nerds and ignorant teenagers. this game must never be remade

@cryostation I'd have to agree with that. VS was a masterpiece of a game, but really, it was a pretty much unknown game. With the exorbitant cost of creating modern games, most costing literally tens of millions of dollars, experiments like this are no longer possible. That's why you see so few original games now. It's all the same old, rehashed a billion times franchises. Hell, most of the games I loved on the PS1 would of never been made today. No VS, no parasite eve, no xenogears.

Ivalice is such a vast world. Maybe Riot's story is done, but another game using the mechanics, maybe telling the tale of a different Riskbreaker.

Perhaps putting the player in the shoes of a minor VS character, in a sequel/prequel

But the problem, as you already said, is that it might ruim the game.

Vagrant Story is a obvious masterpiece (story, gameplay and soundtrack!). Maybe a remake for ps3. That would be nice.

I just started playing this game about 5 days ago and it is AMAZING as hell. I was quite blown away at the gameplay, graphics (good during it's time), story, etc.. oh and, GAMEPLAY. HOLY CRAP! It took me almost 40 hours to beat it and it was worth every second. Why isn't there a part 2? Seriously.

It would be nice of they made another sequel on ps2 or for the PC. but part 1 is always the best. im still waiting for another chrono cross 2 for the PS. i think crystal chronicals series took over vagarant story,l its dungeon after dugeon just like crystal chronicals.

I have to agree with Triggerhappytel, Vagrant Story was hands down the best PS1 game made. Fantastic characters, fantastic plot. It's a shame most people never heard of it. I still play my copy from time to time when I want to play a masterpiece of gaming.
