Becca, what the holy Quran meant when commanding us to believe in the previous scripture is that we must believe it in it's original form that was given to prophets of ALLAH. Not the corrupted ones that was altered. All the quotations of the holy Quran that you quoted were taken out of CONTEXT!!

Hadiths recorded the revelations chronologically, the circumstances leading to them and how the surahs were formed. Qur'an has been memorized since then. Without hadith you wouldn't know it if someone add or change a word in the Qur'an, like changing 'circumbulate' with 'visit'.

2 things about hadith;

1- linguistically: new ,recent, story or tale. (in dictionaries)

2- terminologically: sayings or actions of prophet s.a.w.

The 'Hadiths' mentioned is of the 1st definition, 'things new'. Contrary to Qur'an, the bible you have now is from the writings of Paul, edited and modified thru the ages and not God's word. Just ask any bible scholar. Hadiths of the prophet s.a.w record the revelation of Qur'an, e.g about the 1st ayat revealed in the cave.

Yes Muhammad s.a.w is the last Prophet and in Quraan did not stated he's the last messanger. Prophet means Nabi, Massenger mean Rasul and Rasul means someone who send the message/reminder from Quraan (words from Allah). We are also messanger, and our duty to keep on spreading the massage in Quraan, BUT we never get any Wahyu from Allah or Malaikat. We're consider "small rasul", but NOT the real rasul. Wallahualam.

Don't confuse Lexicology with Terminology. from the arabic word rasala, rasul means messenger, from naba-a, nabi means the bringer of news. The postman is a rasul and the newscaster a nabi. This is Lexicology. Terminologically, Nabi & rasul are God-chosen people with tasks & traits. 4 traits are, truthfull, trustworthy, outreaching and wise. Mixing lexicology and terminology isn't wise at all. Do spread the Qur'an in its originality, translations are humans' word.
