Smooth, elegant, perfect. Chet could make any tune sound great. And what a gentleman. They just don't make them like that anymore. RIP Chet, we miss you.
Especially Doc Watson flat pickin' master Chet was the magic touch no matter what he played it was perfect See the way at the end he passes the credit Total class act Miss you Chet
to kiaweking... you gotta keep in mind that this is an old video. there was no internet back then, no easy way to find out random facts with the click of a mouse. to him it was just a gorgeous song that he wanted to play.
Actually I'm not much of a waiter. But I did think if you were not already familiar with this beautiful melody that you certainly appreciate discovering it.The song is iconic here in Hawaii. Perhaps you will add it to your own repertoire some day.
this is rumored to have been Chet's favorite guitar.

I do not know why only Chet could make this sound. Even only one touch of pick...No body can do like Chet. Of course, that's why Chet is Chet.

Chet Atkins, Jr. Brown, Roy Clark, Ricky Skaggs and Doc Watson are truly some of the most underrated guitarists of all time.
Just because someone plays country doesn't mean they don't tear the ass out of the guitar.

Too bad Chet didn't break out a slide and do a number like that on that Resonator!!

@boogertoots Chet played with such elegant grace he really DIDN'T need to use a slide. Often imitated, NEVER duplicated!
