The courses are more oriented towards doing the hw than performing well on tests. It is about completing worksheets rather than thoroughly understanding and internalizing concepts. It is about funding the "underpriviliged", i.e. the students that could care less, in a futile attempt to bridge the "learning gap" between the motivated and the mediocre.

I see it every day. 10 year olds with cell phones, unbelievable! Even in college they walk along texting, running into each other. It's the parents responsibility to make sure their kids are getting the information in school. If they are not, then we need to go to school board meetings and get vocal about it.
