"The Clydesdale" This is when you put (not too sticky) tape on the bottom of your cats feet so it picks up it's feet to a very high point when it walks somewhat similar to a clydesdale horse that has had weights removed off it's hoves.
"The Splunker" This is when your cat decides to explore a dark cobweb infested area. ie under a deck or in a basement. To achieve The Splunker when your cat emerges it's face is covered in cobwebs and dust.
"The Cat-aract" This is when your cat is in such a relaxed position that it's inner eyelid slides over which makes your cat look like it had solid white cataracts like a zombie or a blind person.
"The Commando" This is when your cat is extremely afraid of thunder and lightening and will put its body literally millimeters away from the floor and commando crawls to a safty bunker or beneath your bed or sofa.
"The Chariot" This position is obtained when the cat has an ichy bum and projects its back legs forward and out and uses it's front legs to pull forward to drag their butt or, chariot forward. You can achieve this by letting your cat eat hair and/or grass.
We have called your "kitty loaf of bread" as "taxi cab" because it looks like a parked taxi waiting for a fare (with wheels and sleeping driver to boot).
Anyway, just saying, this has already been established as "taxi cab" for decades, so there is no changing it.
my meower does the "loaf of bread" which i call the hen, the sphynx, the tower, the satelite and "fried eggs" which is when she lays on her side kinda flattened w/ her 4 legs outstreched. however my husband only loves animals that sleep in the shape of a ball (which she sometimes does) and solid colored ones.
I saw a cat on the side of the road doing the 'roadkill'. It was my favorite positions. Daniel ur awesome but cats seem to hate me as much as I hate them. My dog always jumps 3 inches short of whatever he is getting on, and constantly makes the 'desperate mountain climber' pose. Scrambling around in despair even though he has previously jumped over twice as high with ease before, it's quite funny, and he wracks his balls (if they were there) on the ends of sofas. Which is of course hilarious.
I used to call my neighbor's cat the accordion cause he liked to expand his back legs and tail while the rest of the body was flat. He would hold the position for a while, creepy.
Off topic, may I ask what is your cultural background? I've never came across with your last name.
I think it's important caring for animals. We're planning on getting a german shepherd once we move to a house with a patio.
Aww! My kitty would kinda twist around with her tail end on its back, her hind feet in the air, and her her front end nearly the opposite- her front paws outstretched and her head between them.
I call this the 'ferret'. Because only an animal as slinky as a ferret could do it.
well, i will tell you what my favorite postion of my cat is...yes my cat blaze. When she is in the loaf postion and u pet her she outstreches her front paws and lifts her butt up with her feet as high as she can and closes her eyes. I call it the ramp because it kind of look like a ramp! well anyway your welcome for posting and I have another cat that does the sailbot all the time!
OMG Me & my bro made a video about positions our cats get into ! but we've had names for them for a few years now. Most of them don't make any sense lol
OMG!!! I have those same exact position names for my cats. Well, just about. Especially the catloaf, cat tower, and sphinx. My cats are always getting into those same positions you've mentioned. =) Cute video!
I have a dog that does something i call the "Chalk outline" its where they lay on their back and tuck one front paw close to their chest and extend one and have both back paw extended so that if you were to draw a chalk out line they'd look like a classic chalk out line of a body. Its morib, I know but its what I came up with.
my kitty lays down and he looks like hes going to trun over. so i call it the trun over then he truns over when i wake him up ^_^ he's name is cloud by the way
