I don't get why people care about the environment so much. I agree we shouldn't pollute it to the point of being inhospitable but I don't think that's going to happen and even if people die it's not a big deal, it's what happens when a population of a species can't sustain itself, members die off until it becomes stable - or extinct but I don't think that will likely happen to humans as we are smart enough not to kill ourselfs off entirely.

I agree we shouldn't pollute it to the point of being inhospitable but I don't think that's going to happen and even if people die it's not a big deal, it's what happens when a population of a species can't sustain itself, members die off until it becomes stable - or extinct but I don't think that will likely happen to humans as we are smart enough not to kill ourselfs off entirely.

Even she could tell to Japanese government or fishing industries about the need to stop fishing whales, or about the need to stop destroying Amazonian forests. In the other hand, we have to consider: what are WE doing in the areas where we are making criticism against Ms. Suzuki? She buitl a group, and then she went directly to the people in charge. Can WE do the same thing? One thing is sure: Governments are afraid of organized people.

the answer is free commerce. you dont war with those you are trading with. you also dont tend to destroy the place you live (planet) for the sake of mutual profit (whatever you may cal that...$s,...planetary health,...equality of all on a planetary basis..) protecting your profit base.
this is true on a planetary basis as well as you and your direct neighbor.

omg! I can't believe it!! . Is that really her name?. Is like I'm looking myself in a mirror (weird) and actually I'm involve in defending Mother Nature and human rights and talks a lot about this matters . Never in front of important ppl but educating ppl that can make some significant changes in our beautiful word , wich means , whoever is on my way.

@buzzclick500 I think I know what you are talking about Mother Nature (we are the ones that are in trouble). but I don't understand what is your idea about the human rights?. I saw a lot of ppl fighting for his rights. Most of the times ,sadly they , as you said , got on jails, same were killed , others just preffer to give up because the system is corupt & powerful.

The "system" is as corrupt and powerful as WE give it permission to be, although, granted, I'm speaking from the American point of view, where our elected and appointed public officials are our servants. We just forgot that for a little while.

@buzzclick500 well, of course we voted x those that are "working x us". The problem is that they don't doing their job (coruption). That's why ppl sometimes have to "fight" for their rights. I wish, hope & dream that someday the corruption in our govermment end . Maybe your point of view works on your country but not on others . My country, x example is beautiful (Peru) but we have to fight x our rights & the Amazon & our animals just because someone with money like a house or hotel in there.

Americans have the right to address our government peacefully(which most of us actually do); the stuff you see on the "news" is the "lesser" element in action, who have not yet(believe it or not)learned to express themselves calmly, firmly and quietly. Our government ignores them for the most part, while the "news" media feeds on their outbursts--quid pro quo.

When you see the reality of it, of how the majority of the world acts towards global issues, you also see that fundamentally, humans are "escapists". If they can escape a problem, avoid it, pass it on, they will. If they have the luxury to do so, they would rather enjoy things now, and shove the problems they deem to be too problematic, on other people, especially when on talks of problems that would take centuries to solve. It's so much easier to say you're going to act on it x years from now.
