ironicly, i just bought one of these yesterday for $20. exact same thing. elec start 2.7. the linkage was reworked by a rookie and no spark. i never worked on a diaphram teccy carb before, but she runs good today though. tomorrow out front for $100.
Just picked up the same exact one yesterday. Had the diaphram type carb on it. Had a float style carb from a seven horse tecumseh engine. Had to change the butterfies and choke lever, but it bolted right on and runs like a dream.
i got the same one for $65.00. no electric starter. new auger assembly, muffler, recoiler rope, spark plug, oil. but it would start then die out. so i used carb and choke spray in the air filter slot, put fresh new gas, and gasoline treatment.( the prestone). now it starts great like new. dosent seem like a 2.7hp.
lol you get warm temps in mn we get colder than u guys do! and dude is that really 2.7hp? thats crazy its in very nice shape! but i recently got a 8hp briggs (its on a 1974 gilson snowblower its built pretty darn well although we use the new 10.5hp frontier snow blower (its a john deere)
