  • I'm a perv it looks like he's fapping at the start.

  • God I wish they could clone this man.

  • best song on the most introspective album Bruce ever did...every song's lyrics are filled with doubts and fears about the mistakes and bad choices he (we) made...

  • One of the best songs ever.

  • Circus freaks should belong in every tunnel of love.

  • this is my favorite bruce song, as it sounds so unlike other stuff he's done, and I love the 80s sound to bits! I hear the dire straits connection. I was a big brother in arms fan in junior/high school, the production of that album is wonderful. mom and sis have seen bruce before I believe. like lots of great music, this was written in times of deep emotional times, during the collapse of his marriage. the lyrics to this song are just wonderful.

  • 32 people have no idea what good music is. They must be Justin Beiber fans.

  • Timeless tune! I love it!

  • Love this Tune.

  • My favorite Springsteen song. The music is fantastic the Lyrics is a deep philosophy of life.

  • @jamesnewton777 My favorite Springsteen also!

  • why was this video pulled from Youtube?Glad it is back

  • @quarqill Thinking the same thing

  • @quarqill, sometimes, it is best to let some questions remain unanswered....

not every answer is so fucking simple....

    Cheers!

    FranKC32

  • could go for a tiny better quality but props to you for havign this

  • The Dire Straits "Tunnel of Love" is an ENTIRELY different song. Great research!

  • Comment removed

  • @barrysolan Interesting that two of you mention Dire Strait's Tunnel of Love as it is a VERY VERY rare case that the same musician/musicians plays on the studio album versions of songs that also happen to share the very same song name yet written by two entirely different people, but that is the case here.

I believe that the E Street Band's Roy Bittan played on both Dire Strait's Making Movies and Springsteen's Tunnel of Love. :-)

  • @LS1LT1, that is a remarkably observant comment on your part.

Clearly, the similar titles would preclude a certain association, but you took the time to be extra-vigilant, extra-diligent.

Knopfler and Springsteen are not so different as artists.

    Cheers!

    FrankC32

  • @frankc32 It actually came to me years ago. Being a huge fan of both Springsteen and Dire Straits since the late '70s I grew to appreciate the fine keyboard/piano work that was quite apparent on some of each artist's best songs/albums.

"Knopfler and Springsteen are not so different as artists."

    That's very true, I should've worded that part a little differently. :-)

  • The dark side of romance....the irony of that sign when he's walking away at the end"this is not a dark ride yeah, right

  • He played all the instruments on this album.

  • @ImmortalSpirit1 Actually, that was "Nebraska"

  • this is better than DIre Straits version-they did this song also

  • 3:40 starts the greatest riff of all time...

  • I am not a Springsteen fan.But i like this song alot.I like it when the music changes at 0:21.Love the "80's music.The Police,Hall and Oates,Culture Club,Duran Duran,I still love that stuff.

  • @vlovesrafa agreed. there is something about this song

  • Where was this video shot? Coney Island, Asbury Park or Ocean Grove???

  • Occasionally, that intro runs through my head driving me nuts. At any rate, in The 80's, I thought that John Bon jovi was "The Boss", NOT Bruce Springsteen. I just like Mr. Bon Jovi's music better.

  • @kja427 We love to joke about Bon Jovi. He's a cute guy, don't get me wrong, but his music is so fluffly and silly compared to 60's, 70's and a lot of 80's music. We like to parody him and make up things he might say. "Yeah, Stairway to Heaven wouldn't have sounded all wimpy and gay had I sung the lead." Signed John Bon Jovi. I saw him laughing at himself on a talk show in the recent years. I respected him for that. Silly, silly music. Bruce on the other hand? Mostly very good stuff.

  • What a great tune!

  • 31 people obviously have never ridden through a tunnel of love :D

  • absolute pure class!!!-what a tune

  • Bruce at his best ....love it.. and what a guitar solo!...steve van zandt rocks!

  • @rkd19 i think that's Nils Lofgren on lead guitar (solo) not Stevie Van Zandt

  • It's a song about his failed marriage to Julianne Phillips in the 80s.

  • mb i dont understand this great song , but i got like a feeling its about sex.

am i the only one who thinks that?

    thumbs up if im right

  • I seen bruce and the band in the 80s at sheffield i wish he would play here in liverpool if he does another tour .he is the BOSS

  • Great song, love it - respect him.

  • This is my all time favourite Springsteen song - it renminds me of a time and era in my life

  • my fav 80s song

  • :) xoxo

  • Hello from the UK :-) Love America.......... Our Allies... Our Brothers

  • grazie di esistere Boss...

  • Excellent to see all the blue nose boss fans fighting the cause, consider yourselves acquainted!

  • Simplemente genial, como todas y cada una de sus canciones. Por algo es THE BOSS.!!!!!!! <3

  • Ono of my favorite!

  • I LOVE BRUCE...THIS ONG IS BEAUTIFUL...BUT FOR ME, THE ONLY VERY "TUNNEL OF LOVE", IS THE DIRE STRAIT'S SONG!! U.U

  • @boxford2loco Dude i totally agree with you. Dire Straits and bruce springsteen are my too favorite musical groups. Shmae the two never did any work together. I would give my front teeth to see Mark Knopfler and Bruce Springsteen live.

  • rlobby I was going to say pretty much same! Never a big fan of The Boss, but I always liked this song - maybe the 80'sness

  • Comment removed

  • @Kammler18 is that why YOU search and watch it.

  • "The Boss" forever!!!!

  • Love this song... sat around for hours trying to remember the name of it.. was raised on bruce and the E street band

  • @TheMoonbaby2. you must have been bumfucked on a daily basis then?

  • Wow, what an amazingly horrible song from such an accomplished song writer.

  • Not a fan, but this song still gives me chills when I hear it

  • Oh jeepers, the courage of the man, the sheer courage to release a song about a priest jaggin you in the ass with a wiffleball bat. Hey, I mean tunnel of love sounds a bit pornographic for a song title, but remember the guy has down syndrome people, give him a break, he's only puttin his anal rape trauma into song to try to deal with it, why don't you all just leave him alone.

  • Didnt dire straits do the orginal?

  • @fenderpaman16 Nope. Two different songs, each fantastic in it's own way. Back to this song:

Drum intro is fantastic, then the kick couplets sound so sweet at the intro - just two beats-like a heart beat,

The guitar solo is nailed! Intensity.

The best vocal passage: ..so easy for two people to lose each other.. as it is in life these days, and his intonation was brilliant during this passage.

  • wow, there's enough pos music to rag on. why would someone rag on bruce? save those doc martens for some of these gang bangers. better yet, use a 45. some of us are waiting on the keyboard to take off the gloves and uncase the rifles

  • Isnt that same spot where the movie the wrestler takes place well the part where him and his daughter go to the beach?

  • I like this video because he does'nt spaz out like he does in dancin in the dark. Brucie has a rare form of down syndrome called CSS(Cock strut syndrome) I'd let Brucie spaz out on my ass anyday. I bet he's great in bed, i'd love to do a handicapped guy, probably has some real unusual moves when he wigs out. We love you Brucie!

  • @dublintoffee lol Handicap guys wow

  • This song is so emotional. Apparently it 's about Brucies childhood, when Bruce started showing signs of a rare form of down syndrome he was sent to a priests convent where he experienced alot of harrowing events. One of which was a penis insertion into his tunnel of love. Can you imagine, putting your penis into a child with down syndrome, that's just fuckin sick!

  • @dublintoffee, congratulations, scumbag, you have posted your pathetic "comedy" online! You are a big success story now! Send a postcard to Albania!!!

Now go tell your mentally-impaired inbred grandmother to cook your vile dinner, pour your alcoholic mother another drink, send your 12 year-old sister out behind the 7-11 to suck a few more cocks, go down on your drunken loser father, swallow deep, and then sleep well!

Congratulations, you are the new American Dream!

    Cheers!

    FrankC32

  • @frankc32,wow frank, thanks for recognising the comedy of my post. The fact you mentioned comedy means you found it hilarious. What grabs me though is that your an old man posting on Youtube. Holy shit if i'm pushing 42 I pray my time is occupied by something more satisfying than responding to a comment on youtube. Do you realise what just happened, you got owned by a guy young enough to be your son you silly old fart. Bruce has alot of down syndrome fans though so I'll make an allowance for ya.

  • @dublintoffee, oh, you razor wit "dublintoffee". You sure "OWNED" me. Another big-talk, no-balls loser hiding behind his keyboard. Isn't Mum about ready to call you upstairs for dinner, that is, once yer' done tossing off into your sock?

You will end up mouthing off to the wrong dude in some scumbag pub somewhere, and then your next stop will be the hospital or the morgue, a true work of art, hopefully your face stomped in by a nice-sized pair of Doc Maartens.

    Cheers!

    FrankC32

  • Hiding behind his keyboard? Says the 40 year old virgin! I got me an aussie Mrs and two ankle biters. I get my leg over unlike you, you poor virginal fat down syndrome bastard. Thank god I'll have something in my life by the time I turn 40 besides youtube. Sad cunt. Bruce Rules!

  • @dublintoffee, if what you say about your own life is true (wife, two kids, or dogs, not sure), then congratulations.

As far as your assertions about me, well, they are as laughable as mine were abut you, but I suppose a girlfriend and a cat don't quite measure up to a wife and kids.

You do have a way with insults, I will grant you that, and as one who enjoys a good barb now and again, I feel that I can say that with some sense of authority.

Bruce is indeed a fine artist.

    Cheers!

    FrankC32

  • @frankc32, I retract my previous presumptions about you. Takes a big man to say what you just did. Perhaps a bigger man than me. Cheers.

  • @dublintoffee, no worries, man. I have a bad habit of shooting my mouth off and it gets me into trouble sometimes.

I recognize a worthy adversary and a decent person when I see one, which is why I chose the high road here. No sense in two reasonable people who have never even met to trade such venom, right?

I am sure that if we sat down and had a pint or three, we would end up sharing a few laughs. I really did get a chuckle at your vivid characterization of me.

    Cheers!

    FrankC32

  • @dublinoffee

YOU FUCKWIT, Don't take about Bruce that way.

  • "Oughta be easy, Oughta be simple enough, man meets woman and they fall in love, but this house is haunted and the ride gets rough, you got to learn to live with what you can't rise above"................ great lyrics

  • @bpo87to me, those lyrics were always the crux of this song, so brilliantly assertive and vulnerable at the same time, poetic stuff!!!

I said so on this thread some one or two years ago, and my song remains the same!

    Cheers!

    FrankC32

  • forgot how good of a song this is

carnival ride nostalgia at it's best

  • maybe one of his best written

  • Sweet.

  • Mi canción de 3º de BUP <3

  • grew up in the eighties..music has not been matched since

  • @wordass123

    your correct there mate

  • I am old school. This is rockin the heart, if ya ain't got one!!! Here it is for ya......... The Boss Is Rockin the SOUL!!!!! =)

  • @xrayinfinity I agree. The Boss just sings it out loud.

  • My favorite Springsteen song.

  • I can be a cynical SOB, to the point I often thought that Springsteen was a bit of a BS artist, portraying the working class man etc. He did not serve in Viet but likes to give the impression he's that type. Putting aside my personal preconceptions/misconceptions, I have to admit this is one hell of a song. The fat man at the gate, and all the gools in the tunnel symbolize the scary things a man and a woman face when they go through a life together-but..they still have each other. Heavy sh1T

  • @karlwhubbard , dude, I fully respect your conflict! I tend to agree with your perspective, Springsteen likes to play to the media to sell records, he is a brand unto himself. Imagine THAT?!?!?!

..and yet I feel the sting of my moron "blind-patriot" friends who just have no fucking clue!

    Intelligent discourse rocks...

    Cheers!

    FrankC32

  • Wat een heerlijk nummer van onze Boss.

    love it

  • 80's won't be back, that's the magic with them...

Btw, Bruce is first class, man...

  • this is one of favorite records from him. His vocals on this song are the best. I love his performance in the video. one of his best

  • I remember watching this on MTV, back when they actually played music videos.

  • Hit #1 rock, #9 pop, #13 AC in Billboard. God bless!

  • Its so cool how Bruce can take a carnival ride and turn into an album and one my favorites

  • Awesome song, and of course I love the old abandoned carousel in this video :-)

  • The lyrics to this song describe relationships perfectly.

  • Bruces best

  • I only love this song --never cared much for Bruce -but really like him here in this tunnel-----------peace and live

  • grandaddy spins this song on the old wind-up turntable and scratches DJ style

  • One of the best songs from Bruce....MORE FANTASTIC ´80´s music on my channel!!!!

  • Wow!

The '80's really threw some classic songwriters for a loop. This is a horrible song for an artist of his stature. Thankfully he recovered.

I'd bet my house it sounds nothing like this when he plays it live, if he bothers. I'd bet my vacation house the demo for this tune is a hundred times better than this over produced '80's money-grabber.

Yeah, I know it hit number one, because he's Springsteen though and had written a couple dozen classics by this point and not because it's good.

  • @TooSlim73 hey this is a great song right up there with dancing in the dark buddy i hate assholes like you that say main stream because the song caught on and hit # 1 you mock it ill tell you most of these bands would of just quit if they didnt make money to survive to keep there band going you dam hippie !!!

  • @midnitesquirldog

If you say so but I just checked your favorites and you've got to be the only person on the face of the planet that likes Jennifer Lopez AND Eddie Money.

  • @TooSlim73 i like alot of music i only like j lo when shes with rappers. eddie money (shakin) is a great song ...

  • @TooSlim73

There are OTHER people in this world.. who like Eddie MONEY AND Jennifer Lopez.

  • @Accord9206

    Ha!

    Link me to one...

I imagine if Bruce gave you his true opinion of this shite hole of of a song you loyalists ...would have your heart crushed ..just admit this song is shite.

  • @Accord9206

If you read my original post, I've already acknowledged him as a genius ...I'm just not a blind loyalist like you and the like ...grow up and realize even great artists can produce utter shite ...be it from company pressure or just a down period for the man ...sheeze, you guys are the entire problem.

  • You've Got To Believe that, Bruce Springsteen is as, The Kingdom of I Am Music in the Defense of... His Bride To Be...the troubled times and the oppressed experience!

  • @TooSlim73 i like eddie money

  • @Fletch7453

...stop it, you're showing your age.

  • @TooSlim73 i,ll bet my single wide you don,t know shit about this song or the boss

  • This is my favorite Bruce Springsteen song.

  • very telling lyrics......always thought the last pc was boston....more than a feeling..

  • This song survives. One of his best.

  • What Bruce sings of in this song, I have been through.

  • I have always thought this was one of Bruce's best songs!!!

  • sword swallower is diane faulk and the snake charmer is ruby rodriquez from coney island sideshow in brooklyn new york

  • @mrtommydungeoms Cool, how did you find that out?

  • forgot how much I liked this song. 4 July 1985 Wembley.Changed everything.

  • @KeepTheJoker 1985? This song was 1987.

  • My dad had a tape full of music videos of Bruce, and whenever we'd watch this one, I'd freak out when the guy showed up at 0:38

  • I never really appreciated this song until about 3 years into marriage.

  • utter brilliance

  • One of those songs that just sticks with you through the years. Always loved it.

  • Isn't that Sheryl Crow in the background towards the end? I thought I heard that somewhere...?

  • @pizzacam Op, nevermind just saw that it was actually his wife Patti Scialfa doing background... I guess I'm thinking of another song that featured Sheryl Crow in the background...

  • i always liked this song.

  • Jill Gatsby MAKES this video a classic.

  • @ELLADOGZ Who?

  • The part where he's walking out of the Asbury Park boardwalk is really cool. It reminds me of walking out of my grandmother's house for the last time at her funeral.

  • this particular melody. I find interesting. no freals. good taste. nice erramgment. with a sweet ending. good job. I like it.

  • love it

  • great --so great it is

  • @MultiShades Mee too.

  • The only Springsteen song I like.

  • Too bad 'Trapped' was a cover.

    Love this song though!

  • Great song, one of his best. Springsteen was so much better when he wasn't preaching his political garbage.

  • " LEARN TO LIVE WITH WHAT YOU CAN'T RISE ABOVE"

Dr.Springsteen should be awarded the Pulitzer Prize for that line !

  • crazy mirror showin' us both in 5D

  • I love this video and song! One of my favorites, but then, all of Bruce's videos and songs are my favorites!! Thanks for not taking this one off YT!

    BRUUUUUUUUCCCCCCEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

    I love you!!

  • L'inizio Mi ricorda molto 'life' di prince e allo 0:23 un pezzo di Samuele Bersani il cui titolo mi sfugge..

  • Nevermind founf out it was Nils Lofgren, Still agreat solo!

  • I don't know. But that guitar solo sounds like Jeff Beck. Does anyone know?

  • Not a big Bruce fan but this my favorite song of his and one of the best guitar solo's ever. Incredible video!

  • @rlobby Totally agree with you. Just great song and video going on here.

  • ...The Boss for over 40 year excellent song, him has italian blood in your origin._I understand because is the best songwriter.Italy is the best for all.

  • It was this excellent song & video by Bruce that inspired me to spend one November day every year, strolling the boardwalk when it was cold & deserted. My boardwalk of choice was Seaside Hts, which is now known more for that idiotic Jersey Shore show. Chicago is where I live now, & very sad that I don't get to take those walks anymore, but Bruce reminds me that Jersey will ALWAYS be home.

  • @Bentom86, so you cruised seaside Hts at night by yourself. Yes, that's what's known as prostitution you degenerate. The guy fluffs his semi hard-on every time he gets on stage for christs sake. Get a life and donate to down syndrome, they might just find a cure for Brucie.

  • hit #9 in Billboard.

  • its not "springfield" its Springsteen

  • Quite the expense to have paid...for The Lady of Love!...

  • listen to it every day, never gets old!

Best music ever! Bruce Springsteen always touches me!

  • Years gone, and this CD lives. Rebecca + I rode down the Tunnel of Love all three of us. Now us three walk alone with the memories - and hell, memories are great having'em rather than not. gn Letslivewithwhatwecannotraiseabove...

  • Powerful lyrics that touches the human spirit.

  • Is Asbury Park still REAL?

  • Yeah great song by the Boss.

Check out John Mayer covering Springsteen on defSpot com

He sound as amazing as Bruce!

  • no, Bruce > John Mayer

  • AMEN!!! 10 times out of 10, Jennifer Aniston would choose The Boss over that lil punk ANY DAY!!!...and Im not a big fan of Bruce anyways, but I do respect him. This is one of my favorite songs of the 80's PERIOD!!!

  • Favorite Bruce Springsteen song of all time. Great personal meaning.

  • :) bellissima

  • Well Betsi E. from Greenbriar W.v I guess you fell off somewhere in there cause I'm on this little boat thingy all alone.

  • Favorite Bruce Springsteen of all time...I thought he was sooo hot in this video!

  • "Tunnel of love" is one the best Bruce Springsteen songs and great video. By the way I love carnival rides!

  • I enjoy Bruce, but this one is my fav. It is not as promoted/played as much as it should have. In the late 60' s, my older sister baby sat for one of BS's neighbors. He had a garage band, kept hitting on her, she couldn't stand him. If only she'd have known, I'd be on the Gravy Train now.

  • beautiful..the poetry of this song.

  • mdwst24 :

Be careful with the haunted house stuff. That went wrong once... poltergeist activity, and frightened the heck out of us. be careful!

  • This is not a Dark Ride !!!!

  • I agree. This is a fantastic song that I can listen to over and over. It reminds me of Autumn and going to haunted houses with my exes.

  • The Last Days of Asbury Park?...(but he could understand 'To excel the wisdom of a human being in order to be his, a bride to Be!)...back in the days our comfort...MTV Videos!....Maye Alexis!..Fox.Rock'sCzar!

  • This song says it all! That's why he is the BOSS!!!
