Try "Mother´s Finest", in a small club, 30 years ago, directly in front of stage...Had that, thank you :-) Blew me right away...I will never forget that :-)
have had the mothers live double lp when i was about 10 years old.knocked me from my feet then...and it still does...with 43years on my back!long live the 70th....
"Don't U Wanna Do It To Me"... These days I'm a mid-age man but I'm still in love with her. As I love the whole MF ever since I first saw them live from Rockpalast 1979 (or was it 80?). They are truly one of the absolute best there is in the funk-hardrock-genre - awesome band...
Chaka Khan , Janis Joplin ,Tina Turner and Patti Labelle mixed up all in one , Then you got Glen , Mo and the Wyzard throwin down some of the most hard core riffs you can stand ! This has to be the most underated Funk Rock band in Music History ! An they did it way before Living Color !
THIS CHIC ROCKS!!!!!!!!! I WISH THEY WOULD COME TO PHILLY, JERSEY.NY SOMEWHERE WHERE I CAN SEE THEM. I SAW THEM IN PHILLY IN THE 80'S AND THEY INSPIRE ME TO KEEP ON ROCKIN ESPECIALLY BABY JEAN
@arnoudgitaar tina was a joke baby jean was the real thang i know i remember, tina managed to horn in when she did everyone switched the channel, bleech. Baby Jean moves much like Janis before her.
I bet I've seen them in concert 2 dozen times over a 35 year period. They still rock just as hard today as they did the first time I saw them. BTW this is actually a medley of tunes but mostly That Same Thing. It's an old Muddy Waters tune.
@Bluesman9830 me too, 1st time in charolotte 75 or 76 can't remember reasons r obvious, saw them last winter, Baby Jean isn't with them, or not at that venue. The 1st time they opened for black oak, foreigner and ted nugent, they were a tuff act to follow but the momentum sky rocketed when The Nuge came on later that night. Loin cloth and all T-A-R-Z-A-N!!!!
@debzeppeliniv Well I saw the open up for 38 Special and Ted both of them got their doors blown off but they all put on a hell of a show in DC ! Same time period.
I have to agree, Mothers Finest is one of the most underrated bands of all times. Great musicians, great music and a great stage show too. I always felt that Joyce "Baby" Kennedy was at her best with the band.
"baby" Jean Kennedy still kicks ass after all these years. Although this is an older performance, they still rock and groove. You have to see them when they ever visit a place near you all!!!
Jesus H christ -that was fucking wicked!! -how come i never heard of this band?,i love funk and rock and i know my music, but why wernt these megastars ??? Awesome!
@bluesfunk77 - Mother's Finest got most of thier recognition with Black radio stations with their hit "love Changes" in 1973...Most Black people did not stick with them because the majority of their music was "Rock n Roll". They found their biggest Audiences in Europe..Joyce is Hot!!!
she soulfunkrocked ma balls off in '82 in south germany having allmost nothing on her skin on stage; the guys @ the mixing console also did a great job.....
MF was really something else. This song is their epic , GIVE YOU ALL THE LOVE I HAVE [ INSIDE OF ME ] with other jams mixed in. Looks like this concert is circa 1981. Joyce Kennedy has some power.

These recordings are from 1981 and taken on the Lochem festival in Holland.
On the festival played Slade, The Straycats, Nine Below Zero, The Kinks and Mothers Finest.
Especially Mothers Finest played a great set.
Thank you for put this videos. I remember this great concert very much
