When I think about politics in the USA, I am reminded of the following program by James Leigh Hunt.

Too many people think that they are doing enough for their fellow beings by praying to the lord and putting $100 in the collection on Sunday.

Here is how I know Ron Paul is right: He pointed out the problem over 30 years ago, everything has happened exactly as he said it would, and he has never changed his story. He is a decent man, faithful to his wife, free from scandal, straight forward and honest. To attack Ron Paul, you have to be just a little evil.

My dad became disabled 3 years ago and BECAUSE he had paid into the system all his life and worked massive amounts of overtime, he qualified for the full disability benefit. Now he makes enough to live comfortably and pay for his treatments, and this will continue no matter how long he lives. If you invest money to try to do this yourself, you will run out at some point. The system is not broken. People who hate it are.

@jjtb4v EXACTLY. It happened to me, that's how I know. We're all just one "slip & fall" away from a back or neck injury that makes us Paraplegics or Quadriplegics. Just one CT Scan away from a terminal diagnosis while unemployed or at an age when your not covered by any other form of disability ins..

The People that think eliminating Soc. Sec. (Medicare & Unemp. Bene.) is a GOOD thing, haven't studied History. They can't remember back to the days of the Great Depression, when these didn't exist.

Sec., you qualify for financial support and Medicare if you become severely injured or have a disabling or terminal disease.
