@rjones6801 Lol your welcome. I always forget that button is there until I read comments complaining about it. I hate the annotations in the middle of the videos too.
anybody else notice on the bottom line it shows a caption saying "Sugar Ray Leonard wins his first professional fight..."? Man this was such a long time ago! i hope our boys in red, white, and blue can bring home the gold in 2014!
@wild1033 Actually it was ESPNs timeline scrolling underneath the Leonard win was Feb 77, three years prior to this. Nonetheless it pains me to say this is awhile ago since I remember it like yesterday and I'll be dead soon with time moving at this breakneck pace.
Im from Winthrop Ma What a great time i remember when this happened and this is one of the you tube moments that i bring up everytime my Beloved Black and Gold hit the ice...............Suck it felger
@tenPMstriker Technically, play was blown dead as a result of the goal. So since the puck was not in play, there wasn't any rule prohibiting all of them from celebrating it on the ice. So I would say it was a mere technicality that kept them from getting penalized for it.
no with a goalie on the ice the soviets couldn't put an extra attacker so they should've pulled myshkin and put in an extra attacker for offense and try for the tie but remember the soviets at this time were so used to dominating world hockey that when they gave up eruzione's goal and were down all of a sudden they forgot how to mount a comeback
@drummersaredabest I don't think so buddy. If the USA could push 2 goals passed him, they could do more. After all, they got far in the olympics, not to mention winning the medal when they were horrible the year before. Herb Brooks was a terrific coach. He knew how to train these guys.
I'll Never forget watching this at the time.....

Why would you put those damn text boxes right in the middle of screen during the climax of the video? Seriously, you must be retarded.

You can see it on Herb's face...even with half a period left, he knew this was the game winner.

@drummersaredabest u forget Vladimir Myshkin was a very good goalie but clearly not on Tretiak's level

don't forget that Myshkin as the back up to Tretiak has to be considered the second best goalie in the country....
