okay...how come the post office can stop in the middle of the street on a one lane street do deliver mail but its not okay for a UPS truck to stop on a two lane deliver a package?
it takes a matter of a few seconds maybe minutes tops to deliver a package like that, most of the time you see the guys running from truck to customer to get it in and out asap. And a ups truck isn't going to fit into one of those small spaces you idiot(fwinstead). Maybe you should just stick to snail mail and have the packages get there in twice the time
This is obviously a staged event. This is beyond the realm of possibility here in the district. Our Mr. Winstead is a master of illusion. Beware his witchery.
This happens everywhere and the UPS doesn't have time to find adequate parking because they have a set schedule to meet. If you're worried about pedestrians gettting hit by cars, blame it on their lack of attention to oncoming cars or have them get off of their phones when crossing the streets. I've come across pedestrians who try to cross streets and fail to notice cars about to hit them because they're too busy with their cell phones to watch out for the cars who comes close to hitting them.
This video is BS. I've lived two blocks from the location in question for over 10 years, it's always filled with pedestrians and open parking spots are rare. Looks to me like the driver made a safe and pragmatic choice. Finding a parking spot there can sometimes take up to a half hour—so the more that remain open the better. Fwinstead, the person that made the video, should go back to the suburbs.
If it was UPS,FedEx,pizza delivery guy, dropping off a passenger, people double park and life goes on.Or the poor buses were "forced out of the lane"? how about when the buses dont completely pull in to the bus stop to pick up passengers? HOW ABOUT THE FREAKIN POST OFFICE WHICH PARKS WHEREEVER HOWEVER THEY WANT?? The USPS parks in front of every building, no standing zones, etc. because they're "GOVERMENT VEHICLES"?? BULLSHIT I racked up $54,000.00 in parking fines in one year in nyc
im a ups driver we park where ever. ther are way too many deliveries to be wasting time looking for save parking spaces. if traffic can get by then its a safe spot thats why they invented double parking lights
Ha, what a loser to sit a video tape this!! Get a life!! You are saying the ambulance had to cross into the oncoming lane because of the UPS truck?? Think about what your saying you idiot.
Look this guy is just doing his job. Can I come to your work place and tell you how I think you should do your job, or do you even have a job? UPS drivers park like that b/c that is company rules. They avoid backing so they dont run over little kids that might be in their blind spot. Do more research next time.
I work for UPS and we have very strict rules we have to follow. Avoid backing is one of the main rules for drivers. The ambulance took the wrong lane because the white van was stopped and he had to go around him. UPS drivers have a very fast paced stressful work environment. UPS drivers don't park like that just to prove a point or to be rude they are just following company rules and in many cases state or national laws.
It cost alot to ship a pkg by any co., did you ask the driver how many stops he had that day? Did his sup tell him that morning that they can't get overtime b/c peak is over?
what kind of businesses are those, then find out what he delivered to them, and then ask who was endangered, because ups handles life saving materials everyday, thank ups they work everyday except thanksgiving and christmas, their lives are already stressful enough without u complaining about how they work, have a heart man
Who does not allow them to back in to a park? Is it a DC law? Is it a UPS rule? Either way, I have plenty of pictures of UPS trucks backed in to park.
wow....you are a dipshit for posting this.....

The UPS driver is doing everything as he's been instructed. You might consider doing something useful with your time.

I also gave this a 5 star rating, not because of the stupid narration, (which just shows ignorance) but because it was centered on UPS!!
GO UPS!!

They aren't aloud to back up on a street like that. Only on delivery docks. Do those businesses have delivery docks?
