Without a doubt, the GREATEST baseball stadium ever. Mind you I'm originally from NY and remember the Polo Grounds, Yankees & Shea stadiums with great fondness. As great as they were, the Old Comiskey was # 1.
How I wish you of the young generation can go back in time to see that gem of a park!
Damn it, why couldn't I have been born earlier. I was like a year old. At this time. I've always been fascinated by what life and culture was like back in the late 80s and early 90s. This is great footage. It's amazing that the site of of Old Comiskey is now a parking lot. And the Sox actually had pretty good team that year. They just happened to be in a division with the high powered Oakland Athletics.
History did mean alot to the south-siders. we didn't have a say so in whether or not they were going to tear her down. Real Sox fans didn't even want a new park. Thanks for this video though. It brings back a lot of good memories for me, A SOUTH SIDER.
man hard to believe i was only a year old at this time. So this was life in Chicago back in the early 90s. Thanks for these vids. They offer some great insight.
First big league game I ever went to was at the old Comisky Park, I remember cuz the walkways smelled like piss walking up to the seats.

Too bad history didn't mean anything to the South Siders. Old Comisky is way better than new Comisky.

@Twom44
I should have clarified my remarks to say, "Too bad history didn't mean anything to the OWNERS of the South Siders."
Yeah I understand, it's the fans that get the shaft every time. Ask me about my Minnesota North Stars sometime.
