The interesting part about gold etfs funds is that they hold the gold for you. What do you hold yourself ? Answer : a piece of paper saying you have a share of gold. My view : get physical posession and forget everything else. NOTE : when he talks about "allocated" he talks about allocated to the trust - not to the individual investor. It is impossible to allocate say 15 ounces of gold to an individual investor when the gold is stored in 400 ounce bars. PS Storing your own gold is dirt cheap.
