To be fair.... LL's career took a massive hit between 1987-89 when the two albums "Bigger and Deffer" and "Walking with a Panther" were rubbished by the critics so he nearly he did end up back in the projects. But when LL dropped "Mama Said Knock You Out" that soon changed!

I went to Junior High with LL and E Love(real name:Cleone). When Walking with a Panther came out, I was stationed in Japan with the Navy and was surprised that E wasnt down no more. In LL's autobio, he said this is when his dad became his manager.Around this time, I heard that E Love got shot up in New York so that maybe had something to do with it. I saw LL about 8 yrs ago at LAX and told him we went to school together. He said"word". I told him I was proud of him and he said "Thanks Man"
