Hi, I work at the Frankfurt Airport and i know that its not allowed there to pick up packets or baggede which is lost from an vehicle.. you only are allowed to call the Airport security or tell it to the baggage vehicle driver... and i am sure that someone of them called the Airport security.
The only things you are allowed to pick up are screwa metal things or other things what is an risk for aircraft.
An Airport is an high sensible place with own rules. But every rule makes sense
Watching this, there were only a few individuals who would've even been qualified to TOUCH that piece of baggage.
Maintenance of all sorts, caterers, etc. may not even have contact with baggage. Bag runners are on a tight schedule to get their deliveries out and completed. Who knows which airline this even belonged to!
At first I thought the whole film was about large letters on screen. Then there was baggage on the field. It was picked up. I imagine everyone there wants to be burdened with one more thing to do for shit wages. Who knows how many reports they have to fill out for that shit. Maybe they get accused of missing items if they do pick it up. Someone already could have "hit" that bag and pitched it. It a different world from Dudley Do Right.
those guys driving around probably arent just having fun, they most likely have a place to be and thats why they are driving there and they might cause more damage and delay if they touch it
actually they pay folks just to keep everything and anything off the ground. the one's passing are keeping a time line or as someone said simply afraid of being labled as theives if they touch it. best question here is where the hell are the people responsible for seeing it before soo many others did? not like it was a small item.
yeah but any objects lying on the airfield is FOD and the safety officer is obliged to pick it up. cause it can cause serious damage when ingested and so anyone who picks it up has common sense
Yup, Union workers. It's called not my job & they will get in trouble if they use common sense. Takes a job away from someone who might have to be called in to do the job for $40 an hour.
you arent allowed to pick other airlines stuff up. if you do and get caught by airport authority you'll get a warning or your pass will be taken.
We did bring a pare of ski's to the bagage cellar @ schiphol airport. but thats an exception. if an Authority employee checked us, we would have been screwed.
Its the same with mail or cargo that fell from a cart on the ground.
It looks rather large. The reason no one stops is because that is an active area with aircraft. Once the closest plane leaves someone will get it. The baggage handlers can't stop because they are taking bags and bag carts to and from places. It really isn't not caring, just bad timing. It happens from time to time. Notice people are careful to avoid it as well.
as a former ramp worker, i would have stopped for that bag, checked it's tag, and re-routed it to its destination because i realize the importance of folks' belongings.
sadly, in this day and age, people do not care, no matter what the job.
but you can make a difference by having integrity and a good work ethic.
lol? you sat there for over 5 mins filming this

either way that is debris on the taxi area which should not be there because it could cause problems for the aircraft
