Just recently Steve did an interview with the Associated Press. The interview appeared on the MSN web page on 10/31. Steve said that since the total hip surgery he has had problems with arthritis and lives on anti-inflamitories. He also mentioned that he would be recording soon. I'm wondering if someone translated anti-inflamitories to steroids. People like to think the worst.

@bitzboy123 Steve was never into drugs, of any kind. Once took a B12 shot! Steve is known for the many different ranges he sings in and they are all amazing - high, low and inbetween. Personally, I feel his lower ranges are even more beautiful than the high tenor ranges (which are great of course). The lower ranges are sexy, mature, melodic, etc. He sings in the lower ranges, because he CAN, not because he can't do anything else. The guy still's got it.
What is this about abusing steroids? His voice in the lower range is fantastic...He is older and as he got older he used the lower range because he wanted to.
@SuperLily54 Yeah back in the 80s when they toured for the whole year he shredded his vocal chords and using steroids didnt help. Vh1 behind the music did an interview with the band back in the late 90's i believe.
I lost a very good friend about 2 weeks ago he was a quite man I went to school with him he was a great friend and we lived done the street from him. I had surgery on the, 11th of August I had some complacations and felt like I was alone I was in the ER after the surgery, some doctors always have and excuse about what went wrong. I had heard such a rumor, the producers of American Idol had considered Steve Perry in place of Steven Tyler, I think an offer was made to him. I know the big dog Randy Jackson played base for Journey in 1986, and he may have put the bug in the producers ears, it is a shame, Steve would be an accredited addition to American Idol no doubt.

This song is one of many great songs on Steve Perry's "Greatest Hits" and by far it is my complete favority listening CD I have. He has a way of reaching inside of one's life and put words to moments in life. I dearly love this song right now as I feel alone in this world. But if you haven't purchased that CD. Do so and enjoy the best listening and uplifting music you have the pleasure to enjoy. God he is one sexy looking man on top of it all. He should have been voted "Man of the Year". Whew !

@LadyProwler100 Anytime you feel alone just come to my page and write me a letter. I would welcome a nice lady like you as my friend :) Know what I do anymore, I take long walks. I tune up a MP3 player I have with Perry's greatests hits on it and some Journey and I am gone. I feel so good when I am done. I go to a large park and every lap is 1.1 miles I do that 5 X's and I end up feeling good, seeing people having fun and drop a few pounds. Take care Love, Glad your cousin is better. Brokenwing

@LadyProwler100 I think if you are reading my profile page you are reading about my husband. He died of a heart attacke first of January. A thorough shock to my life. It has been so very difficult to walk out of that and keep on living and looking for a new life. Day by day that is all a person can do.

I had heard such a rumor, the producers of American Idol had considered Steve Perry in place of Steven Tyler, I think an offer was made to him. I know the big dog Randy Jackson played base for Journey in 1986, and he may have put the bug in the producers ears, it is a shame, Steve would be an accredited addition to American Idol no doubt.

Quest for camelot was one of my favorite films growing up. I do wish Garret 'the character" suited the vocals of perry tho. The fella that sings in the film is fantastic too but not a patch on steve perry.

@abeesler I have been watching the American Idol for the first time and when the judges suggest to the contestants express ourselves while singing to pull the listeners into your world, I just want to shake Jennifer Lopez, Steve and Dude Man Sing it like Steve Perry does and when they want them to move to their songs. Steve Perry does 'stand alone as The Voice!!!! Stevenewfan I totally agree with you. Steve doesn't just sing the lyrics to songs.He sings them with such emotion and passion that when ever you listen to him singing whether that be with Journey or solo you feel 'lifted' and happy inside.
Neal Schon will never replace Steve with singers HE thinks sound like him.For so many worldwide Steve is unique and irreplaceable and for them the Journey when Steve was lead singer can never be recreated.

How I have managed to miss this video as much as I love Steve is beyond me. He just takes my breath, I could listen to him sing the ABC' s and be happy.
