And I'm not doubting you on who's a better pilot than the guy who floated there while a speeding "impulse" gundam ran him through with it's sword. But Kira wasn't trying to fight, he was rushing to get into the ship because Lacus told him she had a new weapon for him to use. Waltfield also told Kira to hurry up and get the new weapon. Kira went into that fight with the Strike Rouge, ready to beat that squad, but then learned he didn't need to use the Strike Rouge.
@yiellow21 I recall all the A.C Gundam Pilots losing a lot of fights when not in their gundams. And losing a lot of fights when in their Gundams. So if anything, they NEED another series suit to be able to win.
LOL, Seed pilots suck quite a bit too. Put them in something that ain't optimal and they'll fall just as well as any other. Well, not all of them. Athrun didn't. But Kira in the Strike in SD is still weaker than most other suits and it takes an infinity + 1 suit to make him remotely powerful.

But thats a very strong point. A pilots skills are very much so measured by what they can do, even in a Mook Suit. But thing is Kira never had to use a mook suit, as for The Strike Rouge in GSD, it DID just go through atmospheric ascension, weakening it's state, straight into the middle of a big skirmish, here he did still take out quite few. But also remember, he was more concetrated on getting in the ahip to get his new weapon than fight.
Athrun climbed into a Zaku that he had little experience in piloting and with unfamiliar controls and yet held off a Gundam. THAT takes skill. Kira used the Strike Rouge which is outdated, but still a named suit. But Atmospheric re-entry doesn't weaken a suit especially when it has PS armor (unlike WZ which was relying a lot on its actual armor so it took the brunt of it). Given the state of the battlefield at that point, it shouldn't have been that hard docking into the ship.
@tylerox9 actually the G-Boys did alot of damege when in grunt ms.
ex1. heero desimated an entire base with just a leo. (enemy bases in wing have roughly 20-30 ms)
ex2. quatre and noin holding off mobile doll virgo's(MS as strong as gundams ) with taures ms
ex,3 zechs defeating nearly 100 MD in tallgeese (which he was starting to outgrow) *tallgeese can move at 15Gs which can kill nearly any normal pilot.*
ex4. trowa matching MD taures's in a near obsolete leo
Kira should've been flying Strike Freedom instead. Would've been exactly how most fans felt, lol.
