is there such thing as a good legal breeding operation that you can purchase pure bred puppies from or are all breeders considered evil running a puppy mill?

What if the puppy store can prove they are acquiring their puppies from good breeders that follow the law, would you approve of this?

It's a matter of each person's choice whether they want to acquire a dog from a shelter or a puppy store, they have the legal right to make those choices just like you have the legal right to voice opinion

Responsible breeders do not sell to pet stores. There is no way because good breeders charge a lot of money for their dogs and they only have a few. In order for a pet store to make money, they buy them for around $100-$200 from a large broker. Then they sell them at much higher prices. These dogs are manufactured like machine parts and the mothers are living in hellish conditions.

Reading The Diary of Jinky Dog of a Hollywood Wife halted my thought to buy. Chose instead to adopt. Next month I volunteer at the local SPCA Animal Rescue.

Amusing. One day I'm eleven years old.  Admiring a beauty whom mistook a fish tank for Jacuzzi. Whose dip resulted in a caked face. Later in life she teaches me.

Come out from behind your anonymity, you liar. I never demanded camera time, Chris Derose demanded camera time after not protesting for one single minute over a course of 6 months. In fact, he demanded that I not be given camera time even though I was the de facto LCA spokesperson for that campaign--and what does a spokesperson do on camera? Run away from cameras?

What in the hell is wrong with Obama getting a dog from a breeder? Maybe he wants to see the parents to see if the dog is a quality dog. Im sorry I have a shelter cat but im also a breeder and I believe for some people they want a quality bred dog. Why dont you go get pissed off at the people who put the dogs in the shelter.

He should have been an example to his kids and to the nation by rescuing an animal from the shelter. If he had, we would have probably solved the whole problem by now. I deplore people who dump and I believe that commercial breeders are part of the problem. I never see them at the pound. NEVER. There are many, many purebred dogs dying every day. Why don't you rescue some? They are from breeders too. Don't get mad at me, get mad at the commercial breeders.

I save my kindness and love for people. Animals come second. You should try it. The uglier they are the more you hold them dear. Do you have an ugly friends? I think not.

For just a week try to treat people half as good as you treat strays and your life and career may take a turn for the better.

I disagree and agree. I think humans should come first, of course. The Dog Whisperer would say the same. I also agree to treat people with kindness and I don't do it just for a week, I do it every day because I work with children. I disagree with the "ugly" comment however. People DO have ugly friends and you may not be attractive to many. I'm just sayin'...

kokid, why so upset about limelight that helps animals? Glad you decided to go humane at Puppy Store. It was the right thing to do. You did it because we weren't going to let you continue to sell puppy mill dogs. I don't understand your hostility, I am protecting animals and I don't take donations. No one is laughing. People are very pleased, in fact, with your wise decision. Let's try to get others to follow your example ASAP to quell the suffering of pet factory animals.CNN on New Year's day.
