Every art has principles, building blocks, foundations; etc, and any artist worth his salt knows the rules before he decides to bend them; If you don't know the rules, it shows.

For example: folks who use photoshop to cover everything in lens flares and plastic wrap. It looks horrible but these people are too amateurish to notice or care. Anyone who critiques their work negatively get an earful of "well that's your opinion"

If the practice hinders the work - in this case the story, exclude it.

You need to stop moving the damn camera around. The shaky wavering viewpoint is accomplishing nothing more than making your viewers sick to their stomachs. Also, please just stick to straight cuts and cross dissolves, those novelty wipes you're using are a big fat no no.

On the plus side, I love the music, and the character designs have an endearing quality.

wierd.. i thought art was the creator's vision. i.e. not yours. i.e. shut the hell up. if you don't like it you don't like it, and because the camera makes you sick then fine, but it adds to the animation, as do the wipes. the animation is supposed to be innocent and and juvenile. the things you say are opinion and should not be stated as fact.

on another note this animation is great!

I've only created animation and storyboards for some of the biggest names in the animation industry, but hey, what the heck do I know, right?

The things I say are NOT my opinion, they are best practices set by the leaders of animation and live action film since it's inception.

Wrong is wrong, and no amount of artistic BSing will change that. I've learned these principles from some of the best broadcast and Disney animators alive, so if you're calling THEM wrong, you're a frigging idiot.

art/animation isn't about appealing to the masses.. its about what you want as the creator. you can have your big fancy training and expertise.. but the standards aren't what everyone likes. disney is great, there's no doubt about that.. but if they are teaching that completely excluding practices is smart, then that's dumb.

I actually really like the super bright version. It's like it's overflowing with the essence of happiness. Plus, i dont see Zoey's hideous clothes as much, and the rabbits look like they're dancing in pure white. I think it's glorious.

the texture for the grass is nice and the bright effect of the animation overall provoked a positive mood - the animation was okay, IMO the movements were too cotton-like, the wizard seemed made out of a cloud without weight or consistence. Probably it felt like this because it had no proper hands to grab just about anything, and things just floated over his hands. Some fans may have liked the idea, but i'm not too fond of the final fantasy style wizard.
