However most of the people supporting mousavi, the second contender for the election who was projected to win by a landslide, claim the election was rigged and a huge lie. I am living where this has happened. And I have seen this event from 4 points of view. Those you see above the roof, are not 2 but about 10 Basijis, all armed, and they are shooting people in the street as this people were silently protesting. After killings (8 killed, 24+ injured), people started shouting and throwing cocktail molotovs. I live here, and I am beaten by those, and I have done absolutely nothing to deserve that. Come and see how wildly people are ignored, beaten and jailed.

No, Hitler has nothing to do with the common sense, and I'm not a russophobe - there are hundreds of thousands of Russians who are a part of the Latvian nation and whose kids are going to speak Latvian as their mother tongue. Why would I hate Russians?

Have you even ever been to Latvia? To my knowledge, Latvia has the most liberal way of gaining citizenship in the whole EU - you just have to complete a simple test. Can you name another country with a system like that?
"They" were protesting? "They" weren't protesting. A small number out of the 14% total of Russian-speaking non-citizens were protesting, because they DON'T WANT to gain citizenship, while at the same time wanting to vote in the elections.

It's not a democracy when the Guardian Council is deciding who can or can't be on a ballot. That is not a free election, and therefore fails the requirements of a democracy.

That is, of course, a purely ideological argument.
While I oppose any intervention military or otherwise (at least on our part) I support what the protesters are doing because I think that the Guardian Council deserves to be kicked out.
