  • what program do you use?

  • I wish I could just "doodle" like this. This would take me days to just get the pose not even right.

  • SOmeone call the medic, because this guy is SICK.

  • how do you choose your color you paint over?

  • Comment removed

  • How did you learn to do this??? *.* /wants

  • how do you change color tone like that? starting at 0:22

if anyone could tell me that would be awesome ^_^

    thanks

  • @JosePablo24 He simply paint over it with another color

  • @MrsSanguisa omg, i was such a newbie back then when i wrote that xD

thanks though, im still a newbie anyways, hehehe

  • @MrsSanguisa omg, i was such a newbie back then when i wrote that xD

  • looks like kishin asura from soul eater with the 3rd eye lol nice work

  • are you using two layers? One for the lines and a separate layer to paint on?

  • at 0:22 when you added the blue gray on top of the brown, did you lower the flow of your paint brush? also was that color on a separate layer?

  • @criscobar Looks like he have a lineart layer, painted the brown under it (or set the lineartlayer to multiply) and paints the grey on a new layer over the lineart layer

  • Song plz

  • @lordpartyboys Description, idiot.

  • Fanfuckingtastic.

  • awesome music, but i must confess i thought there were something wrong with my headset at the begining^^. awesome drawing aswell!

  • music is midwest product - swamp

  • What is this music?? Please

  • You know, I like your techique hha.

But how the hell do you blend! XD

oh, and what brush is it?

  • You know, I like your techique hha.

But how the hell do you blend! XD

  • illuminati eye ?

  • WHAT IS THIS BLACK MAGIC. lOL

  • awesomer :D

  • What do you use to blend the colors?

  • Does anyone know how he's changing colors so quickly and efficiently (yes, I know this is a sped up video)? I'm trying to see if he's just using the color picker (the tool that absorbs whatever color you currently have the cursor over), but I can't tell if he's using it.

  • @z4gnut I'm sure he used eyedropper tool from time to time. He picked colors he painted earlier, or the colors resulted from mixing. By controlling pen pressure carefully, the color mixing could be very natural. The artist picked colors directly from color picker palette (or whatever it's called, I'm using a Chinese version of photoshop) too, as shown in the vid.

  • @FatalRibbon Appreciate the response, really. That's what I was thinking but I wanted to make sure!

  • when i see this pic i think "nom nom nom"

  • VOLDEMORT?

  • I've watch a lot of speed painting, but this was much more helpfull for somereason. Are you using a tablet? or A cintiq or somthing?

  • Why do you use brown as base color?

  • Comment removed

  • @smokeriie I'm guessing maybe it's because he painted from dark to light. Redish brown brings nice contrast to the general cool skin tone. The light source looks pretty neutral in color too, so he had more freedom to decide the color of shadow.

  • This is what you call "doodling"? If only I could doodle so well!

  • WOW

  • "Awww, he just wants some love!" *Gives it a hug* "HOLY **** IT ATE MY HAND!"

  • killer job on the head. nice work

  • and the hands?

  • I wish I had the patience and endurance to create something like this.

  • eyaaah, it's scary DX but.. very good work!

  • do you draw with different alpha settings on your brush? transparent in german ;/

  • Doodling. lol.

    Nice :D

  • 2 easy make art in fotoshop

  • Beautiful video...just amazing...

  • i am officially your fan! way to go sir!:)

  • would be awesome if I were able to this on a sheet of paper

  • what is the name of this song

  • God, I wish my "doodles" came out like this.

  • Great! il

I have a question, do you use an Intuos?? if yes what is your setting for "Tilt Sensivity" and "Tip feel"???

    thanks in advance!!! :)

  • did you draw the outline with a pencil and scan it in or did you use a tablet?

  • I love your technique

  • Looks kinda like that thing that eats Fairies and Babies in the movie Pan's Labyrinth

  • hands?

  • @46419 feet?

  • Absolutoly wonderful work, what s your inspiration for such creatures?

  • your awesome man i love it

  • What brishes do you use?

  • @Orbzon that is halariasssss I agree. I am studying to be a concept artist for a company lime ubisoft or bungie and I agree this guy should have a job like that.

  • Amazing <3

  • even on first stage it looks freakin awesom aahaha

  • it looks like you are painting over your line art layer is this true?

  • It's a pleasure to look how you work... and thanks for the masking tutorial!!!, I learned one more useful thing. One question: How do you blend colors like that? Giving the character the volume without making it lose definition...

  • beautiful bro! nice to see it be done simply but so well helps with the learning process

  • you`r the best paint with colors... saludos desde colombia ... how was the real time when you finish

  • Love your videos man.

  • Epic as always! :)

  • Awesome man!

  • I still don't understand how people can paint using that technique... I always start in greyscale and only color it after adding the details in black-and-white.

Awesome style, though, I'll try to create something similar one day too - the result you get with this technique is pretty unique and I like it a lot!

  • ahh. i know this arktype of creature. the artist was hurt. the open heart and the third eye cal me that. its a protector.

    cool skill. keep it up!

  • this shit's redonk

  • O___O wooow!

  • what is the tool and preset for the green you used for its screen?

  • Si Fi XD!!!!!!!!!

  • Can you tell me the name of the song in the background? and also the artist! I just love it!

  • midwest swamp

  • nice man, very nice, like the music too lol

  • awesome was it done in photoshop

  • great!!!!

  • holy shit, i drew something just like that in my english class when i was supposed to be doing my work lol, except mine wasnt colored and as good

  • I love the description... "Doodling"... My doodles have people questioning if I'm smarter than a fifth grader... Dumb pun, but just saying... you're pretty talented...

  • this looks awesome :]

  • music kills, and so do your painting skillz ;D

  • word

  • That's incredible dude, great job. You should work as an art designer for a video game or animation company. And this is a great song, all you haters can suck it and go back to listening to your mainstream Hannah Montana garbage.

  • Hannah Montana sucks XP

  • i LOOOOOOVE the colors you use

  • Good piece, but terrible music.

  • That was fantastic.

  • I don't remember but was photoshop designed around/with wacom in mind? or was wacom just designed for photoshop

  • wacom designed for photo shop i think

  • photoshop has some features for the pen like pressure, so i guess photoshop was designed for wacom or it just added the features after wacom came on market

  • but i think those are added when the pen driver for your tablet is installed?

    Just a thory

  • -_-

i have a wacom and i dont have PS

but i have SAI and OC and they both have pressure sense

  • i like the painting and the music. u used photo shop right? well id like to get into this kind of program but with my graffiti art.

  • very interesting :D i like how you did the dark shades first then added the lights and details :D

  • fucking balls!!! right mate!

  • I want to know how your brush looks likes to get your strokes like this when you paint.

and no i don't mean the the brush form.

  • -jaw drops-

  • your doodling is a million tims better than my serious work XD

but i'll have to get there too!

  • you are pretty good

  • Thanks for the video. Really nice work.

  • awesome dude wow really cool shit it look amazing i put it on fav really good

  • i really like it![;

  • Do you always start with brown? and why brown?

  • I THINK IT'S BECAUSE if he leaves the brown under then the transparent color above will give a sense of shading

  • @fullfist you can always use black or grey

  • @banutra shadows aren't simply grey/black they are also a color (unless the whole piece is black n white)

  • @fullfist yes, you can always use another color, but one-vox/brogmeyer use brown as the base in most of his speed paint vid. I believe that's what DigestDemons meant by asking "why brown?"

  • makes me think of something i would see in a tool video. Really awesome, especially because of the extra eye. Adds a outer worldly feeling. 5 stars

  • umm how are your brush properties set up? like is the brush set on minimum diameter or maximum? Not sure what its called, but i know its somewhere where the brush presets are. You know what im talking about right?

  • MAGIC.

I like this picture a lot, too.

    Your goood ;)

  • God, you call that doodling?!

You and your fiancee are pro's at drawing&coloring.. i'd really love to meet you!

  • damn that was great. and what kind of music was that sounds good. keep those videos.

  • Very Pro, extremely nice painting there. Inspirational! Thanks for posting!

  • He's using a Wacom. They allow pen pressure for opacity, color, or anything else like that.

  • god.. all those questions about programs and tablets X_X ughhh

Great progress, love to see how you work :)

  • what tablet do you use?

  • it doesnt matter what tablet you use on a picture ^^ its all in the photoshope and the different layers you use

  • Well it might do. I know, for me, the tablet I use I do not like much because it's too small for me to CG comfortably.

Plus, I'm guessing but different tablets may read a different way on PCs I don't know.

Noodlez222, if you're looking for a tablet I've heard Wacom makes are good.

  • sorry another question... as far as layering ur colors how do you go about organizing them? do you put all brown back color on 1 n then do the highlights on another? or do you go by parts like teeth in one layer eyes on another?

  • he uses the color picker tool

  • do you use the mouse or a tablet?

  • Photoshop is all well and good, but personally I prefer Painter for paintings and I use Photoshop for effects and changing the resolution and cropping and such.

  • what brush are you using?

  • hes using a custom brush (ie: tweaked the opacity or flow.)

  • i would really like to know what you use (the mouse, a tablet, ect.) because im trying and following all of ur steps with limited success because im using a mouse

  • he's using a tablet

  • what if he was using a mouse

    =O

    that would be insane

  • then he must have the most balance in his hand EVER!

  • It's almost impossible to draw a diagonal line with a mouse. Plus I don't think he could have filled that in without pressure sensitivity.

  • Yea I know

but I was just saying what if

  • how much does photoshop cost?

  • if you need to ask, its too much, lol.

  • haha, so true.

  • free if you know how xD

  • nice work - what music was that?

  • its in the description

  • great work there, Bugmeyer.

i have only just started learning digital art after many years of pencil sketching all the time. i would be greatful if you could tell me what those initial steps were in the video. i'm still doing everything on white and have only just got the hang of basic tools, though i am having fun discovering the endless features on photoshop.

sorry, i believe i'm what they call a noob...

  • wut program do u use?

  • Photoshop.... DUH!

  • i absolutely love that grey flesh tone...nice character

  • wow i liked this speed paint, it was very helpful in improving my own painting skills, thanks!

  • What you do to darken the color? Is that the brush is? very nice !

  • the brush is set on a lower opacity. Let's say the opacity's set at 50%. You chose a color, but when you paint a stroke, only half of the color will go through. If you go over that same stroke, where they overlap, you have the original color you've chosen.

  • wow soo good!

i have been trying to get good at photoshop =)

but could you tell me, is it just lots of layers of colour at low opacity to get skin etc looking so realistic???

  • that is skills...XD

  • I came to listen to the song and I was just in awe of your vid. just amazing

  • thats you "doodling"? jesus. i can draw fine...but digital coloring is a different story for me :P nice

  • Wow!, drawing of one of the Menial's from Resistance:fom

  • how do u change colors without selecting them in the color palette?

    nice job, btw:D

  • Hold alt while using the brush tool.

  • it looks like that humanoid monster from cloverfield.

  • thats really awesome but the thing itself is a tiny bit creepy but overal cool work

  • You do some awesome artwork.

  • awesome done;)

  • can some one send me the song in mp3 please

  • just go limewire and download the song for free

  • Ummmm.. when i look for this song it does not come up with it someone help mee

  • Awesome work,I loved watching it!

  • i was just wondering, what where the hot keys that you used, and what where the brushes you used?

  • Thanks a lot for that man. And thanks for introducing that band to me. I like em.

  • wat is the name of this program?

  • Photoshop =)

  • Nice. Thank you!

  • awesome,

    thank you !

  • You shock me.

  • Amazing, thank you! Really inspiring :)

  • amazing!! You make it look so straight-forward! ^-^
