The books they are references are frankly crap. Economic hitman doesn't really source any information whatsoever. Naomi Kleins book of shock doctrine is only true in the premise, the implementation being open trade policies is certainly not the truth of most countries with problem, rather protectionism and decades of complete disaster is the norm.
And I am a Ron Paul supporter, from the Hayekian tradition.
The gold standard has issues. If the dollar is backed by gold, it will indeed make the dollar more valuable. So valuable that other countries will want them, and gold will flood out of the country in the form of dollars. That happened in the 70's and that's why Nixon stopped exchanging foreign dollars for gold. I believe in commodity-backed currencies, but we need to keep our wealth from flowing out of the country.
This road trip by Tucker was his turning point. Prior this, he used to always couch his support with a negative that undermined all he previously said. After this trip, and meeting these folk, and spending a lot of time with Dr Paul, he became a full on convert. If that hasn't happened to you yet, please keep researching him, and find out for themselves why his followers are so passionate.
I want to be self sustained and self empowered, but I work in the growing service sector of this country's corporatism. The reason Ron Paul's ideas have so much power is that there are many other intellectual people who can confirm the things he says. As a Canadian, or as I call us, diet America. Ron paul's actions in your country would save mine as well. Canadians are ignorant of their own political situation.
Tucker raised a good point about believing one group over another. The answer isn't in our hearts. Our hearts aren't reliable. The way to know what the truth is, is question everything. Even you're own beliefs. If you ever agree with anyone 100% of the time you are probably going about it all wrong.
Everyone should read "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" by John Perkins. Also: "The Secret History of the American Empire", also by John Perkins. Educate yourself!
Tucker. I'm a traditional Conservative, not a Fascist Neocon. I've always liked Tucker, Lou Dobbs, and Pat Buchanan, these are TRADITIONAL Conservatives, like Ron Paul.
Tucker voted him in! We should thank people like Tucker who voted him into Congress in the first place!
Same. He's ran his mouth in the past, but after listening to Jon Stewarts reflection on O'Reily et al. I've come to realize that they (we) are all opinionated, and for each of our own specific reasons. We make no progress by being aggressive towards our ideas, but we make a lot of progress by being honest, by being consistent, and by practicing what we preach.
Tucker is a believer of that, and so I am a believer of him. Even if I don't agree with what he says.
the dollar goes down because its not backed by gold anymore. its being printed faster then its worth. jobs in america are down and gone, thus money will lose its value, america almost creats nothing, its all made in other countrys by corporate SLAVES
alot of people were doubting tucker cuz he'd say people aren't ready for ron paul and that he's radical...but in actuality tucker is Paul's biggest fan, and after watching this i have a new admiration for tucker..not many of these pundits have the guts to come and mingle with the public and just listen
You're right, but what these guys forgot to mention is that these books are backed up by historical facts and many sources. In the books they cite many sources. And if you're not sure, look at documents and such from the time they're talking about. You can use the internet to check sources, if you're not sure about something. That's what I do.
Also, all of Ron Paul's ideas are backed up by historical facts. We (or atleast I don't) follow him because it feels right, but because I KNOW he's right! If you look at what Ron Paul is saying and compare it history, you'll know exactly where he is coming from. History ALWAYS repeats itself. It always will.
legalize marijuana, this is silly and then we wouldn't have this problem with hemp. treat it like alcochol and educate our young ones to obstain before becoming of age. kids can m/j today easier than alcohol!
I'm a serious Ron Paul supporter and I do agree. The unfortunate part of having a candidate who will really change things is that he also attracts some loonies.
The majority of us supporters truly are not like that.
yeah you probably noticed by my channel, i'm a hardcore Paulite also.
now some of them had some good points, but i mean they're speaking for all ron paul supporters... which is a bad thing... and there's Tucker- just to absorbing all of the wacky things said. this is probably the worst video of the series.
HE claims Ron PAul isn't giving anything to people like the other candidates promise. I disagree, he is giving us our income back.He is giving us freedom from the fear of confiscation of our guns insuring our liberty. How far would the Nazis have gotten with if every Jewish household had a un and 500 rounds?
"Money Banking and the Federal Reserve" Check it out on Google Video or go to tinyurl(.)com/33cke5 I'm trying to find it on DVD. This is the best explanation of going to a gold standard ever.
He should also check out "History of Oil" by Robert Newman on Google Video, or go to tinyurl(.)com/3xucqu
Robert covers the issue of Iraq switching from the US Dollar to Euros.
I give Tucker Carlson much credit for at least taking the time to get to know and understand what's going on in the real world. That is the important thing, whether he supports Dr. Paul or not.
its all for publicity. Tucker Carlson has been one of the biggest douchebags (and bush supporter) on tv since he was on crossfire with the ridiculous bowties. fuck him
I repeat, tucker IS A BUSH SUPPORTER. He was one of the biggest cheerleaders for the war and all the other fascist like neocon agendas Do i really need to say more?? He plainly says on this video hes lost on the GOLD STANDARD out of all things. gimme a break
oh he understands it, he just doesnt want it. Who doesnt understand what the hell the gold standard is? you'd have to be retarded! yeah, he SAYS he agrees with much of what paul says. Much like how bush said hes for no nation building and limited govt lol
I understand what the gold standard is perfectly well...I also understand what the problems with one are...to you...there are no problems with it..and that's wrong...
Even Ron Paul recognizes there are problems with a "traditional gold standard"
The books they are references are frankly crap. Economic hitman doesn't really source any information whatsoever. Everyone, we need official designated Ron Paul spokespersons for every meetup.
I know you have good intentions but when you're talking to someone who is new to the concept of freedom, you have to really ease them in.
And don't drone on and on.
Stick to the points. He's for allowing gold and silver to be legal tender, to legalize gold and silver. (if you word it that way MUCH better).
He's for legalizing freedom, competition, for ending war, and for the constitution.
