  • an uncanny comedy that is both uplifting and riveting.

  • i know it's not only me who like the barreness of this film

  • best movie ever. you would expect it to be about the israeli-arab conflict, but instead this theme never comes up - as if there has never been a conflict. this movie shows us the alternative to the hatred & bickery we have created today. it's like a dream that can come true, if we want it to come true. Salam!

  • I thought this movie was not as good as I expected, and not much of a comedy. It was interesting and it didn't make me shut it off half way through. I think a lot of the situations which were supposed to be funny, I didn't find funny. I like the music though.

  • it looks nice...however their arabic is clearly not egyptian at all ....words coming from an expert :D

  • made my day!!! thanks webmovietube

  • I bumped into Saleh Bakri by accident at the Osian film festival once just as I was about to enter the hall to watch this movie. If he had asked me whether I liked Chet Baker, I think I would have died.

  • great movie - i loved it!! and indeed this woman is gorgeous!!

  • נמאס כבר מסרטים מכובסים ופלצנים. מי מכין את כל אלה????

  • Clothes nice.

    Yes. Like Michael Jackson.

    ...

  • huhcant seem to find a guy who isnt a coward

  • I loves the movie, but for a story who tell about a band, I would have liked to hear some more music, as the music was really beautiful. Alas, too few musical moments.

  • Very good movie!!!!!

  • love this movie!!! so many awkward situations, yet very funny!!

  • i totally agree, no such situation will happen in reality, but i think this is supposed to be taken as a fictional movie

  • I agree with you that it's "soooo far from being realistic" but cos of entirely different reasons.

Because the Egyptian culture is full of indoctrination to hate- you think of us what you think.

It's so ironic that this movie was banned in Egypt, where any thing that will show Israelis as human-beings is treated like the work of the devil.

  • @d1974

It's banned in Egypt? Wow... that is ridiculous.

  • when you will make a movie that put Israelis in good light? That is your peace after 30 years calling us "Adou"? Apparently killing 3000 in few hours in one day in September by a massri was not a crime, just "resistance"

  • massri !!!!!! what massri is ?

  • @adoh2020 -means egyptian in hebrew, i think, i speak arabic, musre is arabic

  • @adoh2020 egyptian

  • I think the woman in this movie is so beautiful. Not fake like so many of the blonde bimbos we have in our movies over here...

  • I just watch this DVD film at home, that's a good camera work, lighting and professional to arrange colour design in every shot. It's not a "Simple" story of film!

  • not an Egyptian police uniform, not a perfect Egyptian accent by Palestinian actors.misses the Alexandrian 'ayoooh' loool

Still I'm looking forward to watch this movie

  • dir balek you can be branded collaborator of Adou Israel

  • do you know the name of the song that he starts to play with his clarinet?

  • @hana0adorable

an opening to an unfinished concerto for clarinet.. no name, i dont think its actually a real song

  • @LeDoute well thank you anyway ;)

  • i really love this movie ¡¡ amazing ¡¡

  • I just saw it, & LOVED it!!!

  • one of the best movie ive ever seen

    totally different from Hollywood

  • what a great little movie, glad it won best foreign film on Rotten Tomatoes.

  • Deeeeeeeelightful!!!!!!!!!!

  • What is the name of the song at the start of this trailer?

  • I LOVE this movie!! I feel like a human being after I watched it. Another gem from Israel after 'Waltz With Bashir'.

  • waltz with bashir, amazing!!

  • just saw this today. nice movie =)

  • i liked this movie. saleh bakri was hilarious.:)

  • yeah.. seems incredibly funny.. jeez.. ZzZzz

  • For waelium: this film is a fairy tale. A story of things as we'd like them to be, if people acted out of generosity and patience and kindness. Not out of hatred or fear. It is meant not as truth, but as a what if, what if we put aside the past and thought of as each other as people with the same primordial needs, the need to be loved and understood.

  • Amazing film. Gives hope and faith in people:)

  • They are not innocents they are terrorists.

the Palestinian government(Hamas) don't want to recodnize Israel all they want is to eliminate Israel.

    so plz stop spreading lies.

  • well im not israeli or arab.. but as a outsider if i could say for me Israelis are as much terrorists as palestinians.

you THINK you are fighting for a good reason.. trust me they do think as well. diffrrent is they are just on other side.

its pretty much and simple as a soccer game. only diffrence is when some one score a goal ppl dies.

Dont get me wrong i have both Israeli and Palestinian friends here where i live. but u are a freek a 5 year old child is not a terrorist. you are!

  • loungins you are Iranian

so you are not very objective ;)

  • to be honest, im born, raised, and half swed.

never been in iran. and if i could i would shoot all in iranian regim. u are missing my point. all im saying is palestinian and israeli ppl can live in peace and harmony, the warr it self is a political issue. calling palistini civilians for terorrist is plane wrong. but if i had to choose a side i would say why the hell put israel on top of an outher country? was israeli first there? well in that case half of word should blong to persian and romans

  • beside and u are objective? :s U ARE an israeli

  • Nope I'm from Iceland, we are neighbors. ;)

    (I didn't knew that Swedes speaks Persian/Urdu/) :)

  • ammm...I think you missed the last 30 years.

Israel and Egypt are not at war.

  • it's true. when i was in egypt...the people i talked to were all under the impression israel wouldn't let them in.

  • good step, i courge it

  • ...yeah i want to see it...

    thanks for posting

    c:

  • THIS MOVIE IS HILARIOUS!!

  • :)it does follow the current trend.

  • very melancholy with some very funny moments... overall i got the feeling the movie adressed loneliness and the different ways of "measuring" quality of life... don't know how i feel about it entirely though

  • Just saw this tonight in Montreal -- loved it !!!!!

  • Could someone please tell me the names of songs in the movie? Especially the one which Tewfiq sings in the ending. (sorry about my bad english :( ) Thank you!

  • Going to the Cinema in Langenthal tonight to check out his movie. No better way to start the week than a rattling projector and a nice flick!

  • seeing it tonight.

  • my mom's brother made the music for the movie.he won a isaelien oscer

  • Can you find out what the name of the singer & song in the skating scene is?

    THANKS :)

  • I totally agree with you elsoda. I actually understand films better when they have subtitles. Plus i love foreign films. My favorites are the Lives of Others and Pans Labyrinth but this film looks really good and why are american films mostly about stupid horrors like one missed call and prom night. They are also all about going on the streets and dancing. Watching one of those movies lowers your IQ by at least 30 points.

  • lol, such an elitist.

  • i am so thankful that i became a fan of foreing movies since age 12. i cant stand the garbage and crap that american filmakers make, just for the quick buck n thats it. just like La vie en Rose, this one looks like a gem. FOREIGN movies rule! oh and americans, DONT BE SO LAZY N STUPID n try to read subtitles!

    Ohio

  • you watch them at the drexel?

  • Wow, that trailer has subtitles on everything, even English. Is that really needed? It's not like everyone watching the trailer are deaf.

Ok, now to something more nicely said:

This movie looks like it's gonna be good, can't say great. I will maybe see it.

  • It actually has subtitles throughout the film, whether the language spoken is Arabaic, Hebrew or English. Most, but not all, of the English is clear. Your choice whether to read.

  • an absolutely brilliant movie! just saw it at the international film festival in rotterdam. 5 stars!!!!! one of the best movies i have seen in a long time! a truly great surprise! 5 stars!!!!

  • I really want to see this, but i don't think it is going to be released in American theaters :(

  • it will.

  • It is.

  • ok lol; I torrented it anyway cause i couldnt wait; it was really good!

  • I'm watching it in D.C. from February 29th. Check which independent film theater near you will be showing this.

  • its in some theaters in usa
