Because a person chooses acting as a profession, doesn't mean they give up their rights as a citizen to speak on political issues. Also the term "any guy off the street," infers to me that you feel non-celebrities are "less important," therefore, somehow, more credible.

How often do you go to "the street" yourself and converse with "average" people? I disagree that "average people are more likely to listen to what a celebrity has to say." Which celebrity? What issue? That's too broad of a generalization.
