It was two 250 watt metal halides, AB 10K, with two 48" VHO Actinic flourescent bulbs. All were driven with Icecap electronic ballasts. The tank has been gone now for over 5 years, almost forgot about this video. I kind of miss it, but this sort of stuff just isn't in the budget nowadays!
Thanks Maroonclown, it was about two and a half years old or so in the video. It's a 90 gallon, the only thing I dosed was B-Ionic and Kalkwasser. It's since been torn down, though. I've got a new starphire cube tank I'm setting up, but I'm not getting it done very quickly.
Gorgeous reef-in-a-plastic-box you have. Is it hard to keep one alive and well? I am right now into tropical fish and the longest I have been able to keep a fish alive is 3 years...Id like to get into reef tanks eventually? Where did you get a ll the living coral?
No, I didn't run a chiller. I did have heat problems, though, which eventually lead to the tear-down of the reef. I have a new custom starphire 26" cube tank that I'm very slowly setting up, a bit smaller and simpler, hopefully less expensive to run system (only one 250 watt HQI halide), and I now have a chiller that I will run on that system whenever I get it finished.
Just a black background with a heavy layer of coraline algae. The video was taken with my digital camera, good for pictures but not so good for videos. It was a full reef, not a fish only.
dang what kind of lighting do you have

Thanks - the powder blue was my favourite. Lighting was 2x250 watt AB10K metal halide and 2x110 watt VHO actinic
