I grew up with these poems (TS Eliot: Old Possums Book Of Practical Cats long before A L. Weber ever thought of setting them to music, I read them over and over again, we also had a recording of Eliot reading the poems.
I really enjoyed your reading of this. My favorite was always Mungojerrie And Rumpelteazer, my dad liked Growltiger best, and my mom never liked to have favorites.
Funny, I love Broadway, even a lot of ALW, but I could never stand the musical "Cats"
I love every one of your recitations.. They delight me in the extreme! Anyone who finds 'fault' is sadly lacking in their appreciation of the classics... :-)
YOU'RE READING THIS????!!! OMG!!! xD lol I think you sound really neat reading it. :) Even though, much of the time, I've been singing while you read. xD I LOVE CATS the Musical, and I'm VERY happy to find that the lyrics aren't all that different from the poems. It makes me want to get this book. <3
Excellent voice. Thank you for sharing!

I love this poem. It reminds me of cats I have known, who always looked so nonchalant after committing some mischief or mayhem. =D

Love this. We used to have a cat called Macavity. Alas no more.

haha! It's so 'catty' to the core, the very essence of them.

Macavity is a poem from "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats" published in 1939.
T.S Eliot, who wrote the poems, died in 1965.
