I like this one with all the strikes, we did it tonight in Jui Jitsu, perfect to get an elbow in on the way round and another to the chest when you land.
You need to wind with the opponent, rather than dropping straight down.
Wrap the arm tighter, and keep your eyes on your hand right till you land.
I will also say, that I have an issue with clubs/schools that teach a range of martial arts poorly. We had one near our club, once. For an extortionate amount, they proffered to teach several arts, including judo.
The coach had only done judo to yellow belt, and got round this by claiming that only the 5 throws he teaches are effective.
@p3rs0nan0ngrata I reckon that it's much easier to be a movie critic then a movie director.
The guy doing the throws is a 2nd degree black belt in Judo. He took national championship few years ago. Now he has two torn miniscii on both knees. He just helped our efforts to document the Judo techniques we use.
We took no money from you for our efforts, so buzz of with your insolent remarks. I personally have an issue with acrid movie critics.
Your videos are rife with people offering constructive criticism and you responding with poor excuses, such as the videos not being instructional.
So, I'll be blunt. Choose a healthy uki, learn to do the techniques properly, then put your videos up. I wouldn't let you take any money off me, and I certainly wouldn't advise anyone to learn judo from you.
i've tried for tai otoshi with various grips besides a lapel, and it does not always work. So i'd be hesitant to apply the tai otoshi label to any other throw

Nice throw. I have accidentally gotten this in when a fit in went bad lol It's good for softening up someone before groundwork. :)

it looks like a tai otoshi because of his legs.

Its close, but the difference is in how hes winding him up with his arm... hence the makikomi part of soto makikomi.

Yes but in tai otoshi their are no hips
This is a hip throw :P

@MarcusJUDO92 Yeah, he's got body contact instead of a gap like a tai-otoshi, good eye, because I thought it was tai-otoshi too at first glance.
