Nice overview. This guy speaks very well. Now Hyundai needs to add a heated steering wheel for the US version, which the competitors already have. I see it's only availabe in the Canada-spec Genesis "R-Spec", which seems odd to me. Electrochromatic outsd mirrors would be nice as well. The competition has the "edge" in this dep't. I would consider a Gen, but until then, I'll keep my BMW.
The 5.0 mustang is 12 grand cheaper, but it's not a luxury sport coup, it's a muscle car, wich is a big difference, I wonder when Lincoln is going to come out with a luxury sport car

Hyundai and Kia being junk is a thing of the past! The NEW cars they make are MUCH, MUCH better then the old ones! And they have GREAT styling! The Honda's and Toyota's are boring to look at.

This is a v8 that goes to 0-60 a little over 5 seconds and takes 16 mpg city. The BMW 535 goes to 0-60 in about the same time and takes 19 city and it's a v6. Hyundai failed
@smp336 Well Hyundai claims 5.1sec to 60mph. BMW claims 5.7sec for the 535i and 5.0sec for the 550i (4.7 for the 550xdrive) its an interesting comparison but the Genesis is definitely closer to the 550i in terms of performance. Granted I would still rather have the 535i too.
@KyleRoll206 I wish it were that easy. Production schedules run a very tight timeline. There is so much more that goes into making a car review than some folks realize. Believe me I wish we could have shot the next morning but unfortunately about an hour after we finished taping the R-Spec was on a transporter headed to some other part of the country.
We'll have the car again in a couple of months and give you a full review.
half the road tests in UK magazines are conducted in the rain in a lot sportier cars than this. also, people tend to drive their cars in the rain so a review in those conditions is obv relevant
