Life was such an uncluttered scene back in those days. This same roadway today is full of unsightly commercial strips and lots of trash. We've lost it, people.
That beautiful desert scenery at the end...that's now another subdivision outside of Las Vegas. Well, at least the Pepsi doesn't need helicopter delivery there anymore.
If you were in the Pepsi generation, you'd be in your 60s. These people look like they are in their early 20s, this commercial was made in 1963 according to another you tube video. This is to ThreeOranges.
Joan Crawfords husband, Alfred Steele, was the president of Pepsi Cola came up with these commercials aimed at a younger crowd. He succeeded brilliantly and Coca Cola suddenly had a real competitor on their hands.
How long has Pepsi been in England? According to a woman I went to school with, she told me she and her family moved here when she was four in 1967, and she had never drank a Pepsi till she came here. The US I mean.
Pepsi was the principle sponsor of "The Addams Family" on ABC; I remember this spot during that series during its original airing and the announcer after the show opening saying: "'The Addams Family'...brought to you by Pepsi-Cola. Come alive! You're in the Pepsi Generation."
Those used to be on YouTube about a year or so ago. It would be nice if someone put those back on imo; my personal favorite is the one spotlighting SmallTown USA.
my tatay said that he used to love these vending machines when he was younger. he said that the banging of the glass bottles was what he remembers the most.
love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Forget the Pepsi; nowadays I'd like to find that Pepsi vending machine from this period in incredible condition (and cheap. But the dream ends here!)

Why was "Pepsi" always pronounced two different ways in commercials? Pep-see vs. Pep-sihCola--can someone explain this?

The backing singer for this commercial is my cousin, well known UK singer from the 1960s, Valerie Masters.
Her husband was Dick Katz, the pianist from the Goon shows.
Valerie is alive and well, now living in surrey, England and is still as bubbly as the Pepsi Cola.
