I agree. You can't perform those in the PS2 version which frustrates me. I don't have any idea why didn't they include it in the PS2 version making it very boring and less attractive for me. With these kinds of acrobats u can use it in combats and more exciting. for me the TRU PS2 version is the WORST. I stil prefer the TRL whcich offers lots of gymnastics and other combat esp. AERIAL COMBAT (the kick thing)

TRU had a great improvement on the physics and graphics, but it sucks that they made the PS2 version so crappy! It's basically the Wii version, but with no reformat for the PS2 controls.

The first thing she does is a basic dive roll, I dont see how people think this is so "amazing". I learned all of this in gymnastics, and I am telling you, you dont have to be Lara to do this. Sure its difficult, but anyone can really do it

Same. Although Allison is only the model/spokesperson for Lara right now. Heidi Moneymaker did 100% of the motion capture for the game. Both are great gymnasts, Allison even performed for the prince!

Yes, the moves are motion captured. But the actual animations are edited.

I think they sped up the animations (like shimmying along ledges), which didn't look realistic. The animations look convincing, but everything seems to be in fast forward. I think they edited it a lot.

I agree. I also think it losses detail when they "fast-forward" it. I understand why they did it though. Everything has to be in-sync time wise to give the player a smoother experience + this tomb raider also had a non-linear environment. I think they should have kept it maybe a little more realistic by not changing the speed of the motions as much.

Probably; they used film-capture software with an Olympic gymnast to film all of Lara's new moves. Maybe a gymnast can do it, but probably not your average Joe. ;)

Here is a video of Xena performing a similar move to Lara's double front somersault. it is possible for the gymnast to be suspended via wirework than motion captured. Check out this video at 18 as proof this can be accomplished.

Heidi Moneymaker the NCAA gymnast motion captured Lara's move. While Allison Carrol was the Model/spokesperson who had a gymnastics background.

Also, yes these moves are possible. They are nothing but simple rolls, layouts, front sommersaults, cartwheels.

The sequence may be difficult for gymnasts to actually do on floor with the double layout. HOWEVER its not impossible with WIREWORK. Im sure HEIDI MONEYMAKER was suspended with wires. check this video out as proof. these are possible.

Motion Captured means that a real person done these stunts, i think her name is allison carrol or something, And they captured her motion and movements on camera and the put them into the game. thats the easiest way that i could explain it :) hope that helped.
