A huge, huge mistake, she said when the gas gets pulled into it it emits huge amounts of light, WRONGOO a black hole as we know it can suck in anything and onces that anything is in its gravitional pull it can not escape not even yes you guessed it LIGHT so we would not be able to see it at all, and i do know what would happen if a black hole came into contact with another, it can as you said dance around but I have better theroys.

@Alig952 Well black holes dont work the way your suggesting your suggesting that a black hole SUCKS everything in when it actualy dosnt. A black hole is like a circle in space only when light crosses the event horison will it be dragged in at speeds it cant over come makeing it appear to be black no light but if you look around the event of horison before any dust/light crosses it it admits masses amounts of light this is why we can see were the black hole is as light and dust spirals around it

One of the best things about this documentary is the narrator, Morgan Freeman is one of the best actors and narrators ever! His voice is just bounding and so soothing you could listen to it all day long and feel refreshed...

Watched it today, I learned a lot about quantum mechanics from this show, now I'm hooked on the Susskind-Hawking debate between whether the black hole releases information after destroying matter, the Black hole waltz, and the idea about the LHC and how it speeds up Protons or Lead Nuclei. I, only 13 and I want to devote my life to this, It seems like something great to study. Mr. Freeman's voice makes this show much more understandable.

In my view science is only science if it can be tested by many people and the same results obtained. If many people obtain different results than it's not science it's strictly opinion. I think it is a disgrace how these channels pass off this pseudo science crap as true science. There's a lot of misguided people out there who think pseudo science is true science. For example Macroevolution is psuedo science, where as microevolution is true science.

I know this is crackpot territory, however 1/3 of black holes having a red or blue signature put me in mind of color quarks.

the proportions are similar, 1/3 in a state which itself has opposite pairs.

This is not meant to be very serious, but it is an interesting symmetry.

might we presume that the other 2/3 of BHs have opposite spins? if so can this tell us something about the general geometry of the universe from the fraction we can observe?

@marsCubed Actually, the color of the black holes depends greatly on if they're coming closer to where we are or going away from where we are. If we were on the other side of the black holes, the colors would be reversed. If you want to know more, look for things talking about the Doppler Effect.

One could for instance imagine that collisions between universes might yield only certain kinds of interaction between masses based on angular momentum.

I am not proposing a theory, just a wild speculation pointing to a symmetry which may be there.

@marsCubed I think that if that sort of correlation between the very large and very small could be shown to a high degree of conformity, scientists from many fields would be very interested. I'm guessing the problem would be in finding a large enough and random enough sampling of both the very large and very small to have some worthwhile statistics. Either that, or funding.
