  • 1:33 here is maverick, no gun cam from older version of A10 (A10A or A10A+), the current version is A10C with very deeply modernised avionics.

  • 17 seconds would make the plane go backwards

  • When Chuck Norris flies anywhere, he flies an A-10.

  • Great gun we used it in the nam with great out comes for us not charlie!

  • The flying cross of death.

  • Thats one bad ass plane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • not only does this bad boy rape tanks or infantry, ground encampments, but it also destroys a considerable amount of AA and air defense system), it stays well under radar sensors, has advance missile systems that literally turn on a dime backwards to kill any jets that fly behind it, and has a strong hull to take in some hits. Its basically a giant flying anti-everything tank that really shines in support.

  • @ZergSwarmling Fuck I'm glad to be on the side that has these kinds of weapons.

  • we dont fight against tanks anymore. we fight guerillas.

  • @andr01d1 thats not true. the thrust of the engines is far too great. they fire in short bursts because of the high rate of fire. as the video points out, it only takes 17 seconds to fire the entire store of bullets. pilots in real combat vs. a line of vehicles, such as in the first gulf war, would want to maximize the number of kills for every flight. Ammo conservation is crucial, especially in aircraft.

  • nice slideshow

  • its called depleted uranium as in no longer radioactive

  • dispeceble -radioactive bullets- no honor ehh-

  • @Millinillion Thanks for sharing your ignorance

  • Some say that only short bursts of GAU8 are fired because the recoil slows A10 so much, that there's a real prospect of stalling. Anyone knows if it's true?

  • @andr01d1 No,it's not true, they designed it so it has as little recoil as possible, and the A-10's engines along with it's momentum will keep it in the air.

  • @andr01d1 Yes and No, theoretically if you held the trigger down and were able to continuously fire the GAU8 "unlimited ammo" and the plane was flying level "not in a dive" then yes it would eventually overcome the forward thrust. But this is not why the GAU8 is fired in half second to 2 second bursts, the true reasons for this are to conserve ammunition and to avoid overheating the gun barrels "extends life of gun" besides not much can survive a single burst, anymore would be a waste.

  • Did you record the TV with your 90's Motorola flip or what? woeful.

  • holyyy shittt!

  • 39000 rpm <3

  • 0:43 Thats a strange looking kitchen for her to be in.

  • This is a really good slide show!

  • And people often forget that the Gau isn't it's only weapon. It can be loaded up with just about anything

  • "A 10 TANK BUSTER" aint a good title. how about "WMD's not even Saddam had"

  • The A-10 is called the "flying tank" for a reason, it can take alot of punishment. Even from .50 guns.

  • Get some....!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Before the A-10C, pilots had only one option other than just using plain eye sight for locating enemies in the dark by using the AGM-65D "Maverick" seeker head which provided only a very small and low resolution IR picture... pilots had compared this to trying to find their targets by looking through the hole of a straw... Despite this MAJOR disadvantage the A-10 came out on top as the most successful aircraft in destorying enemy armor /scud /SAMs.

  • It's great videos like this bring out all the geeks or cunts if you will!

  • @getonstag Yeah I remember when kid's fancied themselves as being cool for lacking knowledge and getting bad grades... personally I think it's very tragic when a person struts through life proud of their ignorance and stupidity.

  • Waawah yah a 30mm gautlin gun would take out a tank u dumb shit

  • Errrrrrrrr

Wtf reporter? A single 30mm round will not take out a tank...

  • @WaaahWah Have you seen the size of the rounds?

  • @AtilaCXL

Yes I have. Have you seen the size of a 120mm APFSDS round?

  • @WaaahWah A single wouldnt but a few could :3

  • @WaaahWah actually depleted uranium, tungsten, or incendiary rounds will completely pass through and disable the tank and its crew.

  • @ThaCarterIsLegit

Please explain to me how a 30mm round will do any serious internal damage to a tank when even a 120mm APFSDS round is not guaranteed to achieve penetration.

  • @WaaahWah could you indicate where you got this information? That particular 120mm round is extremely deadly and very effective vs armored targets. Your question is flawed but I'll try and answer it anyway. First concerning the GAU8: Tanks are usually hit from a high angle above the engines or on top of the turret where not as well armored. Normally around 50-100 rounds impact the tank on a single burst although a single 30mm DU round can theoretically disable the enemy tank.

  • @WaaahWah as for the 120mm round... There are many things to consider when it comes to a single round... for instance: the range... the angle and where the target will be struck... does the target have reactive armor? etc... But you can say pretty much say bye-bye to just about anything that's hit at under 3000m but it is possible that your single round doesn't penetrate the crew compartment and kill everyone in that single shot. I thinks that's where your question was pulled from.

  • Russian: AMerican tanks are shit! Russian tanks are superior!

American: Yeah? Well one word buddy: Warthog.

    Russian: ಠ_ಠ

  • @AINGELPROJECT667

Well one word buddy : S400

  • the fart from hell i herd f4s firing on potato hill at chaffie

  • This plane is awesome. Such an old but highly effective design. It has been my favourite plane since way back when I was a kid.

  • Why does the reporter call the 30mm projectile a bullet? Has he ever SEEN one of the things that come out of the GAU?

    tac

  • MOAR FREAKING DAKKA!

  • tank driver: hey, an A-10! ya know, they call those things tank killers.

tank gunner: hey, aren't we in a tank?

tank driver: yeah! yeah we... oh, SHIT!!!!

    *BOOOOM!!!*

  • i wish it meet BUKm1

  • imagine how much money in training goes into the pilots.....

  • why is this vid laggy ????

  • It's the most amazing attack plane ever built. Two thirds of the length of the fuselage are used to place the cannon, it's a flying tank. I've heard there are plans to keep it updated until 2040, but I'm not sure. It wouldn't be surprising, there is not any other weapon like this.

  • If you have visible contact with an A-10 you shouldn't worry about your life. If you'd hear the sound of the nose and CAN'T see it you have aprox. 2 seconds to pray if you want to go to heaven.

  • $100,000 I bet that we'll see rotating laser cannons on orbital platforms next.

  • BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRP

    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM

  • I love the smell of gun powder. They need to make a cologne out of it!

  • This plane needs to stay in service at least another 2 decades.

  • @Porshadoxus The A-10 is scheduled to remain in service until 2025. Hopefully it makes it longer than that cause the A-10 is my favorite plane.

  • stupio i love \PR download it at realitymodcom

  • Got a month left of training then I'm heading to Davis Monthan AFB to do avionics for these bad boys.

  • @wolf1010 I am envious ov you.

  • You've got to say this thing is enemy-friendly, since they won't notice their dead.

  • my future job!!!!!!

  • 17 seconds holy shit

  • i like if they say guns guns guns. ^^

  • I wonder how it copes with AA weapons? I guess it is easy to fire at maquettes.

  • Actually, it does pretty well against AA. The Pilot sits in an armored titanium tub, and the engines sit wide apart. Redundancies are built into the A10 for survival. If you don't believe me, then ask the guys that took hits in the first Iraqi war & flew them back to base.

  • @rokuth I was there when he came in....i was a crew chief on the A10.....ONE BAD ASS BIRD!!

  • ive heard stories of them coming back with only one engine, and shot up by small arms fire. WE GOT THA BEST NIGGA!

  • @rokuth Yeah, these mother fucking planes are invincible... I can't wait to work on them.

  • @rokuth oh hell yeah, they will get fucked in they ass and come back for more. they can still run with one jet too i think. they are built like flying tanks.

  • @rokuth Yeah so many people don't realize how many lives Manual Reversion alone has saved. I read 2 books about A-10's during the first Gulf War and most of the stories were about taking unbelievable damage with total hydraulic failure and still making it home/landing. One I remember had lost pitch authority completely when his ailerons and cables were completely destroyed and landed successfully by using the throttle alone to gain lift/decent This plane is a masterpiece.

  • @rokuth Yes, the A-10 is an attack aircraft. It's made to take hits and still fly and fight.

  • they use flares.

  • Video of Dr. Rokke: U.S. army doctor:

-DU is in the Armor of the M1A1 and the troops within are being irradiated.

-Inhaling one particle of DU or uranium oxide is a death sentance.

    watch?v=JxXLi0n6t1I

  • The DU is integrated within the steel and ceramic layers of armor, completely shielding the crew from the very small amounts of radiation emitted by U-238. Any additional radiation dose is so tiny as to be barely measurable above ambient radiation levels. Every human being has a very small quantity of uranium in our bodies, mostly in our bones. The "single particle... is a death sentence" is hyperbole at its finest. DU is less toxic than lead, and lead poisoning is seldom fatal.

  • I hope everyone realizes this thing shoots pure depleted Uranium bullets from it's gattling gun. Anyone who breaths smoke and dust from the shells impacts will die eventually of Cancer. This is stated by the U.S. army doctor who was tasked with researching the effects. M1A1 tanks also shoot pure DU shells and the armer on these tanks is DU. Little do the soldiers inside know that they are getting a lifetime of radiation in a few weeks of just being in the tanks.

  • Sorry to inform you that the A-10 is armed with depleted uranium projectiles only when it is on a anti-armor mission. Such missions have been rare since the opening weeks of the Iraq invasion. To engage personel, light vehicles, and buildings, the kind of targets that our military has to deal with in Iraq and Afghanistan for the last 6 years, the A-10 is armed with high-explosive projectiles. You really should study up.

  • There aint ALOT of radiation comming out of it because it is DEPLETED uranium there is a little but not enough to cause health concerns. And its not pure DU its tampered and changed to make it strong.

  • Bullshit, you should learn a little before offering rubbish advice. The armour is NOT DU and the crews are completely safe.

You are correct about dust from around tanks destroyed with DO projectiles though.

  • I searched Wikipedia and here is the confirmation about DU armor on the M1A1

Wiki: "Beginning in 1987, M1A1 tanks received improved armor packages that incorporated depleted uranium (DU) mesh in their armor at the front of the turret and the front of the hull. Armor reinforced in this manner offers significantly increased resistance towards all types of anti-tank weaponry, but at the expense of adding considerable weight to the tank, as depleted uranium is 1.7 times more dense than lead. "

  • @AVincent2

You are aware that anyone can type whatever they like onto wiki, right? If that is your sole source of info then you might as well be full of hot air.

  • @AVincent2

I'm glad you are aware of all this. Now why don't you post up a link and give us some solid evidence instead of just your word.

  • A 10s are badass.

  • no a 10 but this vid lag !

  • LAG!!!

  • the a-10 kills all and thats finle

  • The F 16 "with all due respec, sucks when compared to close air suport vs the A 10" In time of need rangers called in F16s to drop bombs on a target, after 6 bomb runs, all 6 bombs MISSED.

The A 10 "With all due respect, Owns" The A10 has never been shot down. Can deliver 30 MM Gatling gun to any range of ground targets, with devastating accuracty and damage. 1 Single 30 MM round can destroy a tank. The A10 fires 50 rounds in the first second and 70 every second after. Up to 1150 rounds.

  • Correction.

1 A-10 has been shot down over baghdad.

  • Hit von AK47 :))))

  • I agree with you the A10s owns but F16s cant do the job of it but its pretty accurate the F16's JDAMs and 2 A10s have been shot down in iraq.

  • Amazing, gatling invented his to end the cival war, The antiaircraft version like Vulcan the A 10 is very allergic to/

  • The warthogs are highly allergic to LASERs

  • Everything is allergic to the A-10

  • can someone explain me what makes this plane a better anti tank weapon than for example f16

  • it's big, heavily armoured, carries ALOT of ordanance, looks badass, and has a REALLY big machine gun that would take your head clean off

  • but isnt it easier to shot down ?? it circles on a low attitudes with low speed. it a destructive weapon for tanks but probably its much easier to hunt down than f16

  • just hearing this thing go off is enough to scary the enemy to surrender

    its the intimidation factor

and that it is designed for just anti tank or everything

  • thats why they have armour and flares, and A-10 has ALOt of armour

  • lol sonic, take your head clean off?

try "blow you to little tiny peices"

  • lol that too :P

  • it can carry more anti tank weapons and is more manuaverable in slower speed than f16, thats why pilot have more time to find and lock the target, it has better armour, and all plane is built around the main anti tank weapon 30mm gatling gun whitch can shot special anti armour munition from depleted uranium. this munition has enourmous kinetick energy

  • a 10 is faster than f16 just less maneuverable and can take out just about anything

  • Try that the other way around, the F-16 is WAY faster than an A-10, but the A-10 is MUCH more suited to lower speeds meaning it is much more manuverable, dispite it often being called a "flying tank" it's manuverablility would make you think otherwise

  • according to tom clancy hawx which is supposed to reflect actual plane capabilities this is not the case

  • Tom clancy's hawx is a game, i don't care what you say, A-10's cannot break the speed of sound, and f-16's can barely fly below 300k/ph, this is a FACT.

  • also i've played the hawx demo, it's a freaking arcade game it in no way simulates any of the aircraft flight mechanics that are in the game, i remember in the demo being able to do what can only be describved as a mid-air 180degree spin which would almost instantly point me in the opposite direction i was flying... which is bullshit.

  • an f16 is much faster than an a10

  • Who cares. The A10 is not designed for speed. As a mater of fact Rookie pilots cannot or can barley fly an A10

  • Yeah it was ment to fly slow so it can spend more time hitting the targets and with more accuratcy.

  • @jerseyy it's designed to take out tanks, close air support.

  • this plane owns

  • if you saw an A-10 coming and werent afraid then you wouldnt be alive.

  • Good thing it's on your side then, ehehe

  • @felspect by the time you saw it you would have 100 30 mm AP rounds in your body... or... what was left of it...

  • @felspect im not afraid when i see them... but they also fly over my house on an almost weekly basis...

  • @felspect fuk F-22 TYPHOON would beat an a10 anyday

  • @haxx49 of course an F-22 would "beat" an A-10... A single F-22 handled six F-15's at once and with ease. The F-22's job is air superiority. The A-10's job is close air support... apples and orange... their roles are completely different and pointless to compare.

  • @lmos26 cool whats the difference between and A-10 warthog and an A-10 thunderbolt

  • @haxx49 no difference, it's just a nickname.most pilots simply call them Hogs and themselves Hog Drivers. In terms of difference you have the A-10A, YA-10B which basically just has more night and adverse weather capabilities and the A-10C with it's incremental precision engagement upgrade. The A-10C differs from the A-10A in that the cockpit now has x2 MFCD displays which give the pilots a MUCH higher engagment range and JDAM capable with the LITENING targeting pod and it's FLIR capabilities.

  • @haxx49 I can tell you this though when it comes to the soldiers on the ground, you will not find a single one of them that would prefer to have an F-22 supporting them over an A-10.

  • @lmos26 true

  • @lmos26 And the T-50 can handled six F/A-22 with oxygen problems at once.

  • @kosmos224 If you're talking about the Russian version of the F-22, well I don't know how you have come up with, since they have never engaged one another. Maybe you got this from some theoretical scenario that somebody thought out or the other which I highly doubt, that they actually squared off in some kinda red flag type event. The fact that F-22 took out so many F-15's, is a fact, but if you could list the source of your claim, id appreciate it.

  • @haxx49 If you want to compare the A-10 to something the I would suggest the SU-25 Frogfoot. That's basically the European's A-10.

  • @haxx49 one of the most stupid, uneducated comments I have seen in a long time, thank you for bringing a smile to the people who fly outside of the "Play Station".

  • @greasemo12 how i said f22 and typhoon the would

  • @haxx49 RETARD...

  • @sotemot omg read my different comment i said f-22 & typhoon so read it u arab

  • @haxx49 Don't worry about this jerk off, there was absolutely nothing wrong with anything you said here. Ignore him.

  • @lmos26 thank you

  • @sotemot Hey asshole, haxx49 simply didn't know something and he thanked me very politley when I explained the correct information about what he had said. You're insulting him is very shallow and weak. It's jerks like you that make people think twice about asking questions out of fear of being ridiculed. He was nothing but polite and there was nothing wrong about asking me a few questions out of genuine interest... and in terms of stupidity, you're at a much higher degree than haxx49.

  • @lmos26 OMG just shut the fuck up.. I wont take shit from jerks like you. Hes comment wasn't a fuckin question it was a retarded statement... thats fucking stupidity moron.

  • @lmos26 Shut the fuck up and get the fuck out of here moron! I couldnt fucking care less, and in my mind that comment was so completely retarded and looked like one of them mw2 kids commenting about shit they don't know.. it just pissed me the fuck off.. if he was offended by my comment he should go shoot himself, and I don't see your fucking point anyways.

  • @sotemot I agree that his comment was incredibly misinformed. My point is that the better man would offer the correct information for the commenter to learn from rather than using childish insults. When haxx49 was offered the correct information he was willing to listen and thus learn from his mistake. A true fool wouldn't have done this. The two essential ingredients of ignorance is the unwillingness to teach and the unwillingness to learn. This is why I consider you worse than haxx49

  • Comment removed

  • @lmos26 Well yes master, you are so much more inteligent than me, plz master, take control over me and the world and lead us to victory, do that my intelligent master, you are so good. I love you master.

  • @felspect If an A-10 is coming for you, you won't see or hear it coming.

  • fuck, now im second. i guess this calls for a beer.
